Maruti Suzuki considering Baleno petrol SHVS for 2017 launch in India - This will be Maruti first offering with SHVS technology for India.

The Baleno petrol with the SHVS technology has also been spotted testing in India. This engine, while is similar in capacity to the existing 1.2-litre rev-happy motor, will be the Dualjet version. The K-series engine is the base of this K12B motor and packs in dual injectors into one (hence the name). This technology claims to increase the performance as well as fuel efficiency.

The new Maruti Baleno Dualjet is likely to get an updated interface on the inside. On the outside, it is likely that there will be a Dualjet badge, different alloys as well as rear disc brakes .

And because of that technology the rates will come down to the regular baleno (in delhi)? Who will buy the regular baleno. Confused.

Ps: add the word "petrol" before "offering"

The SHVS -Petrol will likely be only in specific variant when launched. It is also speculated this version is being tested for preparation for the stringent upcoming BS-VI norms.

Cool. Better late than never. Good to see Maruti bringing the Dualjet engine to India. Now since it says release in 2017 and waiting period for current generation is around 6 months, I think it's better to wait for the update. Else the car will turn into old generation in few months

Maruti Suzuki is aggressively going ahead with its launches and is in constant mode of upgrading its productions gearing up for the upcoming norms due in 2017.
One such product is the Baleno SHVS - now spied testing in various parts of the country
The Baleno Petrol SHVS is on test in various cities nationwide. We have managed to spot the Baleno testing on the busy streets of Mumbai. The car seen here has rear disc brakes and the testing plates back from home. 1.2 Petrol engine will make around 85 BHP and can deliver OVER 20 km/l when it comes to claiming official claimed numbers. Maruti will pitch the hybrid product as before it did with the Ciaz and Ertiga.
The spied car is seen with rear disc brakes as in the boosterjet variant.

Launch will not happen soon as the Baleno orders have exceeded its production capacity and the SHVS could happen only in late 2017.

This is the rs variant and not the svhs equipped variant

This is a mild hybrid version already available in Europe. It isn't something worth getting as it is much higher priced than the regular 1.2 dualjet baleno. The k12 dualjet baleno delivers 90hp here.
