I still see many cars being sold at the normal rates. Sellers won't bring down the value just because of this. They know they don't execute these plans but implement it.

How much will it change?
1. First the vehicle should get a NOC from the registered RTO.
2. The purchaser should pay the tax in his state again separately. That tax will be on the ex-showroom price of the vehicle.
Then the purchaser will have to transport his vehicle.

Individual buyers can't influence the market. The second hand dealers (both car company owned and independent dealers) will source from Delhi and shift it and their existing stock to other states. Once there, the sale price will become lower than the prevailing resale value in other states. This will also affect the resale value in the states which are ban free. Overall resale value will thus come down. As to how much value will be eroded depends on supply of the pre-owned cars. Metros will definitely be affected more than non-metros .

The cars will be sold in UP,Himachal,Punjab and Haryana. Taking it anywhere else is not cost effective. There is also a belief that the NGT atrocities (!) may continue to other states. So, basically there may not be much takers for these vehicles. The real losing side are the owners, who may have to sell it for dirt cheap price. The middle men (dealer) may make some money selling to nearby states.Another vertical that may flourish is the second hand parts business.

Why? A Toyota Innova 2010 can be sourced from Delhi at around 7.5-8 Lakhs. They are getting it transported here for about 14 thousands and selling them here in Hyderabad for 10.5-11 Lakhs. So for another 40 thousands and Tax, your final price arrives at around 8.3-8.6 Lakhs and they are making a good 2 lakhs profit.

The latest news says that if your diesel vehicle is more than 15 years you won't get the NOC.So you can't sell the vehicle outside Delhi also.

Wonder if this ban applicable to govt vehicle and public bus or trucks also.If not then does that mean that those vehicle make less pollution.

Seriously this kind of stupid rule is going to get implement when you have no technical person justifying the rule.Instead of going for new emission standards they are putting pressure on general public. If you want to ban then do that even for govt and public vehicle also which is not going to happen and you all know the reason WHY?

Although Supreme Court is above all, the Decision it has made in this regards is very unrealistic & immature. How can modern cars cause emission while the Industries & Trucks & Buses (Barring CNG ones) contribute less ?

Although This is currently only applicable in Delhi, it will be applicable in major cities in very near future (my guess before 2020). If these kind of Decisions are made, why cant the Supreme Court promote Full Electric/Hybrids/Plug In Hybrids ? Provide incentives on these kind of cars and make the manufacturers launch the hybrid cars that they have in their Portfolio.
