Jaguar F-pace lands in India, launch slated for festive season.

A black Jaguar F-Pace luxury SUV has been spotted at what appears to be a dealer stockyard in India. The presence of the vehicle indicates that the F-Pace is just a few days away from being displayed at the Indian showrooms.


The details of the SUV have already been listed on Jaguar’s official Indian website. The launch is expected to happen in the festive season (September to November).
The first ever Jaguar SUV will be available in four variants namely Pure, Prestige, R-Sport and First Edition. The first two variants are powered by JLR’s new 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine which has 180 PS and 480 Nm of torque on store. The R-Sport and First Edition variants are more upmarket and are powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that is capable of dishing out 300 PS and a massive torque of 700 Nm. An 8-speed automatic transmission would be standard across the lineup and the F-Pace also gets all-wheel drive system.


The crossover which is based on the iQ aluminium intensive architecture like the XE and new XF. Standard features include InControl touchscreen infotainment system, powered front seats, dual-zone climate control, all surface progress control, cruise control, rear parking sensors, etc.

Jaguar F-Pace launched in India, priced from Rs. 68.40 lakhs. Bookings are open and it will be available from 20th October.

One of the unique features of the Jaguar F-Pace includes Activity Key, this key is a wearable wrist band that can be used to lock and unlock the car, it is waterproof so you can enjoy outdoor activities without worrying about losing the key. The F-Pace also comes with torque vectoring by braking technology for better stability when you corner hard.

The performance SUV is equipped with Adaptive Dynamics that tweaks the suspension, steering and other parameters depending on the way the car is driven. The Jaguar F-Pace First Edition is the range topping special edition trim that comes with CX-17 concept inspired sporty styling. It boasts 20-inch Venom alloy wheels in gloss black finish showing red brake callipers inside.

Jaguar building an 18 m tall beacon for F-pace India Launch.

Earlier this month, Jaguar had revealed prices of the upcoming F-Pace SUV. The company had also announced that it will officially be launching the car on October 20 in Mumbai. The British luxury car manufacturer has now revealed a few more details about the launch event.


The company has stated that it is building a beacon that stands 18 m tall at the venue of the F-Pace's India launch. The beacon is being designed and sculpted by Arzan Khambhatta and will have lights and projections. Narain Karthikeyan, India's first Formula 1 racing driver will be present at the launch. He is expected to drive the first F-Pace in the country. Musician Shankar Mahadevan is expected to perform at the event.


The F-Pace India launch will be available through a LIVE webcast on Jaguar India: Best in class luxury saloon, sedans, sports cars & SUV. The event is expected to start at 20:02 hours on October 20th, 2016.

New York, US, 12 April 2017: The Jaguar F-PACE is officially the best and most beautiful car in the world after double success at the 2017 World Car Awards, scooping the prestigious World Car of Year and World Car Design of the Year titles.

The performance SUV is the fastest selling model Jaguar has produced and is only the second vehicle to claim the historic double in the 13-year history of the World Car Awards. To win the pair of trophies, the F-PACE saw off the competition in a vote of 75 influential motoring journalists from 24 countries.

Dr Ralf Speth, Jaguar Land Rover CEO, said: "The F-PACE was designed and engineered as a performance SUV with exceptional dynamics, everyday usability and bold design. Winning this award endorses the talent and great work of our teams that have delivered the world’s most practical sports car and Jaguar's fastest-selling vehicle”.

The awards brace is the first overall success for Jaguar at the World Car Awards. The XE sports saloon was a finalist for the 2016 World Car Design of the Year title. The F-PACE triumphed over finalists the Audi Q5 and Volkswagen Tiguan to claim the 2017 World Car of the Year prize.

Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar said: “The F-PACE is our first ever SUV but it is clearly recognisable as a Jaguar and for it to win the 2017 World Car of the Year trophy vindicates our decision to bring our unique design principles and dynamic qualities to a new sector of the market.”

The World Car Awards jury comprises influential motoring journalists and to win the 2017 World Car Design of the Year prize the F-PACE saw off the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet and Toyota C-HR in the final three.

Mike Rutherford, Juror, Director and Vice-Chairman of the World Car Awards/World Car of the Year said: "Jaguar has done the unthinkable by first securing the World Car Design of the Year award, then lifting the big one - the overall World Car of the Year trophy. With F-PACE, the British company and its proud and talented workers have taken on and beaten far bigger, wealthier European, Asian and North American rivals."

The F-PACE is Jaguar’s first performance SUV and has contributed to record sales growth by attracting new customers to the brand.

Engine options for the F-PACE range from the efficient and innovative four-cylinder 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel, with CO2 emissions as low as 126g/km* to the high-performance 380PS, supercharged V6 petrol model that can accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 5.5 seconds.

The last 12 months have seen the launch of three completely new product lines, and successful growth across many of Jaguar's existing products. Sales are still increasing strongly and Jaguar is now Europe’s fastest-growing car brand.
