Friends,

The Indian I.T Dept. has now started to approach the luxury car dealerships like Audi, Lamborghini and others altogether the details about their clients (read=customer). The move is to catch the tax evaders who have been keeping their exclusive 4-wheeled beauties away from the eyes of tax authorities. It surely seems that our tax authorities have slowly but finally woken up.

NEW DELHI: The tax department has got a new place to dig for information on evaders - luxury car dealerships.

And they have a very good reason to do so. Figures published last month, for the first time since 2000, showed just how few of India's top earners pay tax. Only six people earning over $7.4 million filed returns in 2012-13.

The department, in its push to go after big evaders, is now chasing Lamborghinis and Audis after covering week-long, multi-million dollar weddings, parties and big shopping binges.
