Ford India has been trying hard to hold a considerable market share in India. Until now, the brand has witnessed immense success only with the EcoSport.
The recently introduced Figo haFrom October 2015 to March 2016, the Figo witnessed 60 per cent drop in sales, while the Aspire witnessed a 74 per cent drop.

The targeted monthly production for the two models – Figo and Aspire which averaged at 20,000 units have been reduced to average 10,800 units a month. But even after cutting down the production by half, the average combined production is at 6,500 units a month.

Hence, Ford cuts production target at plant in Sanand, Gujarat by 50% in wake of declining sales.

Yes. Its true.
The two products are really good n deserves good numbers of sale especially diesel engine. Now Ford selling this two cars as per customer requirement that is if customer demands all power window in base model, they modify their harness for power window. End target is to sell car.

This is a bit sad, a deserving product not being able to make the cut. Figo Hatch and Aspire, both of them have a good performing engine and safety features but still they aren't able to strike a chord with buyers, something surprising indeed. I am sure, FORD would certainly work out a strategy to counter these low sales. I see this step of FORD as a temporary one!!

It's shocking .

After stopping Fiesta classic production, Ford has lost a jewel. The new fiesta is selling in single numbers.

It's so sick the Indian crowd showing herd mentality and choosing the other hatches and compact sedans over these, like especially Dzire, over the Aspire. Atleast in the diesel avatar. Such a gem of a vehicle losing out in this manner is really heartbreaking! Maybe they should market the cars more so that a lot of people unlike us, who don't research a lot into this, gets to now about these cars' potential. They can even think about lowering the prices, just like they did with the Ecosport even when it was selling well.

The Figo and Aspire doesn't have the same the ride quality as the old Fiesta. So, the one key differentiation for Ford - Ride and Dynamics is lost in the new twins. So, it was pretty obvious that it was bound to get trampled by Suzuki and Hyundai.

What world class leading dynamics do these two have? Still Ford would outclass them even with somewhat diluted dynamics.

But where people buy cars based on what the neighbor has bought, on perceived reliability, on hearsay better after sale service and expected future resale values, it makes one sad to see this day.

I was just checking the rates of both the cars and was surprised how they have killed the figo with the pricing.

Figo trend petrol is 5.46 lakhs
Figo titanium petrol is 5.82 lakhs.
Aspire trend petrol is 5.9 lakhs
Aspire titanium petrol is 5.99 lakhs.

So for 17k extra you get a compact sedan.

Messed up pricing for sure. The same thing what Zest did to the bolt.

the main reason is the service cost fear(some claim low maintainence and others vice versa) drives people away and the lack of availablity of spares other than show rooms. seen ads ford mentioning the fifth service cost a XXXX by endorsing celebs for the ads.

Im using Figo(6 years) & Fiesta(3 years). I would say the service cost is very low. Even its lower than Maruti & Hyundai. But some people think otherwise. I guess the new ad will change the mindset among the people.
