Official Coverage: Audi Q-Drive Event, Noida

Thanks to TAI team for giving me the opportunity to cover this spectacular event that happened at Audi Noida, the largest AUDI showroom in India.

I reached the showroom around 10 AM and saw the amazing vehicles on display. My favorite was the Audi A3 cabriolet.





The registration was done on the upper level of the showroom where all the other participants were present.

There was a bar and they even offered us snacks before they started the event.





The event started with briefing by AUDI INDIA instructors ( Mr sunny and Mr prithvi) telling about the past events and the rules and safety aspects of the event.

Past year there were a total of 65 events that held in different parts of the country.
They also have sports event in which they have rs series , the TT and the R8 which happens on the Buddh International Circuit. Another event is the weekender event in which both the cars mentioned above as well as the Q series of cars take part.

Now coming back to today's event. There were a total of 6 cars : 2 Audi Q3 , 2 Audi Q5 and 2 Audi Q7. All with quattro technology.

My friend who came along with me insisted on the Q7 so we chose the same. All the cars had numbers on them and i was driving the car number 5.

The off road track was just 5 minutes away and the instructor wanted us to drive in a group but because of the traffic we couldn't.

The track was an empty space behind a mall and had many hurdles set by the Audi team to let us know the capabilities of the cars with quattro technology.

Off-road track was prepared with different kinds of common hurdles, including inclines, declines to test various aspects like balance approach angles, departure angles, break-over, stability of some of the features of quattro technology.

I was really surprised to see all 3 cars managed these hurdles\tests without much problems. Instructor told us to activate the off road suspension setup which increase the car height by 4". He instructed us after the acceleration test since the mode will get deactivate automatically after 30 kmph.

Acceleration and Stop Test

You guessed it right. They gave us a chance to unleash the beast the acceleration was superb and after a point they wanted us to apply full brakes to test the braking capabilities. No need to mention that the Q7 performed really well in both these departments.

Suspension Noise Test

On uneven roads and to check the cabin sound insulation. I am just imagining if i were in my figo over that stretch the track was really made to test the limits of these cars.

The Chicken Holes Test

Only one of the front tyre will get in the hole, you accelerate one tyre will come out and the other will go in.

Axle Twister and Axle Articulation Test

I was looking at my car in front and I was thinking I have to do that.

One of the tyre will remain in air at any given time. This really is a good test to show what you can achieve with quattro technology.

Hill Climb Test

I liked this very much. There was a big hole at the starting and then a steep incline and decline.

The car moved without any fuss and while descending the sales adviser told us about the automatic hill descend feature.

If you are not sure or not able to control while descending. Just press the little button (check in video) and the car will do everything for you. Not sure if each car had these or only the Q7.

Side Slope Test

The track was such that the car tilted by 32*. Take a look at the videos. This was really fun :)

Trench

To check the balance of the car. In this the two wheels were inside the hole and the other two on flat ground.

And this was the last hurdle of the event.

Then the best thing happened we were given bands and only those with the bands could drive the car. Turned out there were more bands than cars so the instructors started round 2. Nobody came for the 2nd round to drive car number 5 so i drove once again

And everyone had their pic clicked with the car and after coming back to the showroom we enjoyed the snacks once again , got a hard copy of the pic plus a powerbank as a gift from Audi ​

Great job Shikhar Nice pictures there. I am sure you must have really enjoyed there. The location is the vacant land near the Spice Mall, Sector 25 Noida. Nice to see the Q7 being tested of its capabilities. Thanks a lot once again for attending this event!
