Renault India after embarking on the success of its KWID at the entry level segment plans for more products to take on existing segment leaders like Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai in India.
These new products will be launched in the next three years
It is rumored to being eyeing the Subcompact sedan (Dzire), the Subcompact SUV( Brezza) and the MUV ( Ertiga) as the segments to be targeting.

To carry forward the success, Renault is looking at adding more products in the CMF-A+ segment. This is a new platform that will be wider and can support bigger and powerful engines too. Renault is working on a new MPV against the Ertiga. This has been code named as the RBC

The second product is a compact sedan that will be up a]gainst the Swift DZire and this has been code named as LBC.

The third product is the compact SUV (codenamed as HBC) and this will pit against the Vitara Brezza.

The MPV RBC is more or less finalised on the design front, whereas the sub-four-meter sedan and SUV are at a conceptualization stage.

The Renault HBC will get features like keyless entry, touchscreen infotainment system, maps, reverse parking camera, dual airbags, ABS, electrically adjustable mirror and then there will art leather seat covers too. The Renault HBC will have five seats and even a large boot. The HBC will even get daytime running LEDs as well. The Renault HBC is likely to get a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine and for the diesel it could be the 1.5-litre diesel engine.

If you notice a bit carefully, you wont find it hard to spot the KWID or the CMF-A platform in there. Interesting that they have managed to get it look a lot like the Yeti though!

Renault HBC compact SUV India launch confirmed for late-2020

After a quiet couple of years in the Indian car market, Renault made a return to form with its superbly innovative compact 7-seater, the Triber, which won the 'MPV/Family Car of the Year' at the Autocar Awards 2020. Now, the carmaker is about to step into a fiercely contested segment; one that has continued to flourish even in challenging market conditions – the compact SUV segment.

As was first reported by our sister publication Autocar Professional, it is now official – the India launch of the Renault HBC compact SUV will take place in the second half of 2020.

The Renault HBC sub-four-metre SUV will be powered by an all-new, 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine codenamed ‘HR10’. Limitations with the CMF-A+ platform mean the Renault HBC can only accommodate a three-cylinder engine, but on the plus side, the compact engine bay means Renault can carve out even more interior space, something that’s at a premium in most sub-four-metre vehicles and a surplus of which will definitely be appreciated by compact SUV buyers.
