Wonderful to see KUV-1OO doing decent job for Mahindra. In 2 months, it's nearing 8000 mark in total. Hope to see more of it on roads. The waiting period in NCR is close to 3-4 months for KUV yet it seems like a decent buy. Thanks Vibhor for the thoughtful and informative report as usual.[:)] In Skoda, do the superb's numbers for Feb-2016 also include a few of the new Gen Superb Bookings too Vibhor?

Thanks for the thread Vibhor. One small question : Do these figures denote the number of cars sold by the dealer or the car ordered from the factory (by the dealer)?

Maruti Baleno sales are declining slowly since its launch. The reason may be the long waiting period or below average build (and interior) quality. Swift and Dzire stand out as all-time favourites despite being too long in the tooth.

There are some manufacturers sticking to the same old car model despite seeing very minimal sales for them. Eg, Fiat with its Linea, Chevrolet with its Sail twins and Honda with its Brio. These cars are seeing minimal sales and have been there for too long without any major (substantial) updates.

It is interesting to know that Kwid accounts for 85% of Renault sales (and other 6 cars account for 15%) and EcoSport accounts for 50% of Ford sales. And equally surprising is to see some cars like Bolero, Ciaz, etc. doing good numbers even when there are better alternatives available. Hyundai Verna magic also seems to be fading off now. Vitara Brezza and Ignis will be making the situation more tense in the coming times.

Is anyone else also looking at the second image of Maruti's vast market share again and again!?

EDIT - It looks like dealers have cleared some backlog of Superb by providing some good discounts.

These are domestic dealer dispatch figures. Baleno has been exported to Japan in January and to Europe in February. Though the bookings are strong they seem to have production constraint apart from the 2 day loss of production due to the reservation agitation.

Its a wake up call for Honda, unless they do some thing new, they are going to end up behind Tata.
Sadly their USP s like dealership experience and niggle free owner ship are gradually getting worse.

Perhaps they can consider bringing in newer version of CRV, HRV ,price the BRV appropriately and improve the overall experience.

Ford India made a record export Sales of 12,000 and poor Domestic sales of 5484, I think cars like the Aspire have a higher demand than 855 but looks like Ford's priorities are exports at the moment, can't belive GM is adding a 2nd shift in India.

overall other than the kuv things seem to be the same. the kuv on road is not cheap and so the sales figures amaze me.
Tata on the other hand seem to be in a long incubation period to regain trust..none of the new products or upgrades have caught the imagination of the public.
The success of the kwid is heartwarming

Nice to see Maruti Ciaz overtaking Honda City in sales. TATA Safari storme/dicor sale is up slightly this month compared to last month, but I wonder why such a potent vehicle is being ignored by customers.

wow... Maruti is still selling more than 32k units of Swift+Dzire combined, that's great for a 5 years old model.[clap] With the introduction of Vitara Brezza & Ignis, Maruti is gonna have 7 highest selling models in the top ten list.[shock] Sad to see declining sales of Figo+Aspire. Honda is facing some stiff competition, they surely need to bring out the facelift City soon. God knows what is Chevrolet waiting for ... no new models... diminishing sales.. cmon chevy .. bring cars like sonic & trax to india.

Don't know why the Figo twins aren't doing well. Maybe Ford is exporting more or they aren't marketing these twins much.

City is still the king in that segment. This maybe one off sales decline. The last time this has happened was when Ciaz was launched, post that City has been selling 1.5 times the Ciaz. City facelift is expected later this year maybe around festive season. But the changes would be subtle, and one would have difficulty in judging the new & old model.

Good to see Kuv 100/doing good numbers in the highly competitive hatchback segment. Still early days though, but it had lots of advance bookings also & Mahindra has increased the production to lower the waiting periods.

This month Maruti Vitara Breeza & Tata Tiago are going to launch. Breeza looks another blockbuster from Maruti stable, but Tiago seems to be doomed before it is launched

Wow, that's a very strong and irresponsible statement to make, have you had a look at the TIAGO, TD'ed, or just a off the cuff remark, because its a Tata?

Lets here it

First there was problem regarding Zica name,Tata took a sweet time to change it to Tiago.
Tata has not been able to market it's products properly. It has a good portfolio of new products ie Bolt,Zest,Kite,Nexon,Hexa,if they launch this products when there is buzz in the market it may grab the no 3 position behind Maruti & Hyundai.
But knowing Tata they are going to make a mess of such a new & promising cars
After Autoexpo there is lot of curiosity for Kite,Hexa & Nexon,in fact they have been choosen the top products of Autoexpo.Tata just as to launch this products as early as possible & garner the market share

Don't get me wrong I want Tata to do better. They have really worked on their new car. They have done the planning, designing part better ,they just have to market the cars properly & launch it when there is lot of curiosity about the cars in the market
In fact Iam very interested to purchase Nexon ,if it launched between during Gudi Padwa.
