What a surprise!!
Visited forum after a long time (With an intention to contribute) and found the most awaited thread up there. Kudos Vibhor! [clap]

  • Ford Figo and Aspire twins have failed to woo buyers even with their performance.
  • New Endy has got a good start and Fortuner numbers also seem to be dwindling a bit now.
  • VW seems to be getting back on track after 4-5 months of low sales; emission scandal effect is settling now I guess.
  • Mahindra TUV is new segment king and KUV also got an impressive start.
  • Baleno numbers low (Maruti plant maintenance shut down?) and Swift/DZire can now forget the 20k above numbers. Baleno has hit them real hard. i20 holding its position.
  • Toyota Innova finally seems to has started losing the buyers' interest; a good thing for now IMO.

Tata's sales numbers seem to start rising after a long time. Now I can see much more Bolts and Zests on the roads. People have started accepting the Indian brand well.
This is what Tata aimed to achieve with the Falcon siblings.
Renault is slipping badly, only the Kwid giving traction.
VW has seen some rise in numbers, but they have to bring new models to maintain those numbers.
Toyota is losing it, with an army of boring cars in the showroom. They need to bring a new hatchback/sedan/compact Suv to appeal to the enthusiasts.
I'm quite surprised to see no sales numbers for the TUV3OO! Is that a mistake or did no one actually buy one?

1. Maruti 47.48%
2. Hyundai 16.96%
3. Honda 7.64%
4. Mahindra 7.53%
5. Tata 4.75%
6. Toyota 3.79%

Very Interesting. Honda overtaking Mahindra.
What happened to Toyota Fortuner sales Falling below 4 digit numbers. Sales of Ford Endeavor is promising.

Fields with a dash indicate that we don’t have the figure of respective car. I'll update as soon as we receive them.

I think about 4450 units of TUV300 were despatched. M&M's total numbers for Jan'16 are 21327 units, about 9.34% marketshare.

What surprised me was that 8 of the 13 car manufacturers have reported M-o-M drop in despatches in Jan'16, which included the Top-2 manufacturers. Dec'15 had more number of holidays and we even had the Chennai floods disrupt operations of manufacturers in that region for about a week or so. Still Dec'15 numbers were higher than Jan'16 for most manufacturers, including Renault/Nissan/Datsun and Hyundai, which are prominent ones from Chennai region. Maybe it was due to inventory & supply issues at vendor level, which led to slightly lower production.

one reason for low no. of vehicles dispatched from factory to dealers can be that the 2016 made vehicles can be at dealer yards after 20 Jan for some of manufacturers
