Saw a recent article. It must be useful to some of the potential buyers:

Cars from Mercedes Benz, BMW, Audi, Jaguar, Porsche and Bentley are on auction by insurance companies from INR 2L onwards. This could be a steal deal if machinery is in perfect condition.

Available car finder website is also mentioned in link below:

Main doubt is about their machinery. I doubt if they will be in working condition and to get them repaired to perfection would cost a bomb. So, one should not be drooling over the price tag at present rather should be concerned about the other important features as well. For eg, If you buy a Merc S-Class for 6 Lacs from this lot and the repair estimate comes to say 20 Lacs then total amount comes to 26 Lacs in which I believe a new Premium SUV can be bought in today's time. In simple words, It is a gamble.

Old news I guess. There were a lot more on that website where it is auctioned. But then, the prices go up after bidding, so not worth it at all. At the best, salvage for parts.
This isn't supposed to happen. These cars are meant to be scrapped.
