It's highly unlikely that they will plonk the Nexon's 6 speed gearbox in a hatchback. Their current Zest gearbox itself has the capacity to handle around 240NM torque.
But it is highly likely that the facelift or "upgrade" could get the new Revotorq and Revotron series engines. Most likely a 1.2 Turbo petrol 3 cylinder unit from the Tiago and 1.5 diesel from the Nexon. I am sure that they are testing both of these engines in the Zest mules (Some Zest mules still running around the city). The down-powering of Zest to 75bhp diesel also hints that they are trying to deplete the MJD engine stocks at the most cost-effective way. (since adding a VGT will cost more)
It is also likely that the Falcon siblings will get a significant exterior redesign to merge with their IMPACT design portfolio (Effort to Make the silhouette less-Vista-like would be welcome).
Expected power figures should be around the 100bhp range for both engines.
Additional equipment and standard safety kit are most welcome. Bottle holders and rear armrest are a big necessity.
All this upgrades combined with Tiago-like aggressive pricing and marketing with Messi will be quite effective in bringing numbers.
Also, I would like to note that these upgrades are likely to make the Zest/Bolt even more upmarket and move up the ladder. Thus these cars would become competitors of the Figo/Aspire and Polo/Ameo (1.5L 100bhp club).
This re-positioning will give enough space for the Kite 5 CS to aggressively target the low powered CS segment including the Dzire and Xcent.
Just my 2 cents.
