  • 2016 BMW 7 Series spotted in India for the first time, ahead of its local debut at the Auto Expo 2016 and will have its public premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week.
  • It is Based on an all-new rear-wheel drive CLAR (Cluster Architecture) platform
  • The ‘G11/G12’ 7 Series uses industrially made CFRP (Carbon fiber reinforced plastic) and weighs 130 kg lighter than its predecessor.
  • BMW India plans on launching a petrol and a diesel variant of the new 7-series, but in the long wheelbase version only.
  • The petrol 750 Li derives power from a 4.4-liter V8 TwinPower Turbo to deliver 444 hp, while the diesel 730 Ld makes use of an all-new B57 3.0-liter six-cylinder to produce 265 hp.
  • Both engines will be paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels; the xDrive AWD variant will not be available in India.

Buddies,

A very close friend of mine shares this pic with the upcoming BMW 7 Series from the recently held preview of the same. Some updates on upcoming 7 series BMW from his end:

* Expected to launch in January 2016 i.e around 10th of January 2016.

* Likely to have gesture based technology.

* From Rear seat the sunroof, front passenger seat etc can be controlled with help of a pad. Also rear seats would be having massage feature.

* Theatre Dim lights would be there.

* Maybe a security version of this new 7 series shall be there as well soon.

* The Expected Price of the upcoming 7 Series i.e 750Li could be 1.5 crore Ex-showroom.

* The 730 Li is expected to be around Rs. 1.10 Cr Ex Showroom.

Buddies, to counter the 2000cc+ Diesel Engine ban in Delhi-NCR, BMW India has imported a 7 Series (725LD) as per Zauba with an engine capacity of 1995 CC for testing.
