The next Innova will be a lot more muscular in looks than the current-generation MPV. The new Innova will be powered by a 2.0-litre or a 2.2-litre diesel engine, which will a far more superior version of the current Innova. This engine will be a lot more powerful and will come with an automatic as well. The new-generation Innova will be a lot more luxurious than the current Innova and its pricing will be much higher than the current one.

As a replacement for the current Innova, Toyota will introduce the Innova Cross. This will be the current Innova with lesser features and a more stylish looking MUV with cladding, something similar to Etios Cross. Toyota has already registered for the Innova Cross name and both these MUVs will be launched by late 2016, or maybe even early 2017. The Innova Cross will get be the same Innova with the 2.5-litre diesel engine and five-speed manual transmsision, while the new Innova will be premium MUV.

Well,a nice idea from a clever head inside TKM[:D].Let's see 'Innova cross' is available in Indonesia and Thailand.IMO,no.Because here in India, they didn't have much guts to stop the current version Innova suddenly and to launch new version as they do in 2005 by replacing Qualis and launching Innova. After launching both at the same time, and if the conditions are favourable.i.e,if the all new Innova gains popularity, the 'clever' Toyota 'cleverly' winds up the production of the old version. This is what is going to take place.

Toyota to have five UVs in its India line-up .
Toyota will not be introducing any new products in the small car category until 2016, Vios the C segment rival to Honda city is the only car planned for India.

As with the SUVs, the next-generation Fortuner and Innova will be making their way into India by mid-2016.
These new UVs will be lighter, quicker and a lot more efficient. The new Innova will be a lot more premium and expensive than the currently sold Innova.

So there will be an Innova Cross, which will be the current Innova with some rugged styling like cladding etc. It will continue to have the same 2.5-litre diesel engine with about 100bhp of power and come mated to the same five-speed manual transmission.

Expect smaller engines that are more powerful and fuel-efficient, on the new Innova and Fortuner, which will be derived from the currently sold 2.5-litre and 3.0-litre engines. The new Innova will be getting an automatic too. They will come with premium features like keyless entry, push start and stop, which were so far missing on both.

The next product in line is the Hiace. This will sit above the Fortuner and will be launched in 2016. This will be a 14-seater luxury tourer.

Another product that Toyota is considering for India is the Alphard. This is a luxurious family UV, which will expensive than the new Innova also. The Alphard is due to come to India not before 2018.

This will chalk up the entire Toyota UV line-up for the coming few years, barring the compact segment vehicles.

All-new Toyota Innova to get radical styling .Toyota's new Innova is expected to get a new engine and a reworked chassis as well.

The new Innova features a new nose that is a big departure from the outgoing model as the anvil-shaped grille is a stand out feature at the front. The distinct bonnet is a bit more prominent and that makes it look less like an MPV. The windscreen of the new Innova is drastically raked, follow the silhouette line up the roof of the car and down to the other side, and it shows that Toyota designers have also used a C-pillar with an inverted kink to good effect. What also works well is the manner in which the bars of chrome run through the headlights and carry on down the shoulder line of the car. As a result, the new Innova now looks less van-like and that could go down well with a majority of private owners.

The 2.5-litre D-4D diesel engine used in the Innova is set for an upgrade and the new motor to replace it could be the 2KD-FTV. Available in two states of tune — 118bhp or 142bhp, the latter is already on sale in India and powers the current Fortuner 2.5.

The front still looks dated - not eye catching, toyota should consider changing the grill, especially the lines which hold the logo - it undersells the logo and makes it look aged.

New Toyota Innova to come with an automatic.

The current Innova will be renamed as the Innova Cross and it will have a body kit to make it look rugged. This will be powered by a 2.5-litre engine with 100bhp of power and five-speed manual transmission, the same powertrain that already is used on the current Innova.

Toyota is gearing up to launch the new-generation Innova in India around mid- 2016 and this will be powered by a 2.4-litre or 2.5-litre diesel engine that will be derived from the currently sold 2.5-litre engine. The new Innova will be lighter, powerful and a lot more fuel-efficient too. The new engine will have a greater turbo boost, better injection and improved torque figures with a power output of about 117bhp. This engine will come with two transmission options, one will be a five-speed manual and the second will be a five or a six-speed automatic transmission.
Innova’s body will be a lot lighter and stiffer too. The IMV platform has been upgraded with new alloys for better driving dynamics. The new Innova will have bigger dimensions and will be a lot more luxurious too.
