Buddies,

Renault's MPV Grand Scenic has been spied here in India again. It is yet another 7-Seater MPV by Renault. It is unclear as to what brings it here since recently Lodgy MPV by Renault India has been shown and is going to launch in near future.

Internationally the Grand Scenic comes with a choice of 4 petrol and diesel engines. These include a 1.2 liter turbo and a 1.6 liter VTVT petrol power plant with 115 and 110 bhp respectively. The car is also available with the 1.5 liter dCi unit that does duty in various states of tune on a variety of Renault-Nissan cars in India – including the Micra, Pulse, Scala, Sunny, Duster and Terrano. Internationally, the 1.5-liter diesel engine on the Gand Scenic produces a very healthy 110 bhp of power. There is another, more powerful, 1.6-liter diesel engine available with 130bhp of power on tap.

Renault's Scenic has been caught testing in India on several occasions.

But it seems at the moment has Renault no plans to launch this MPV in India. It seems some competition has been testing the Grand Scenic in India for a benchmark test. The MPV segment is on the rise and it seems one of the company’s wanted to use this MPV for its testing. As it is spotted in Tamil Nadu, there is a good chance of it being from one of the manufacturers based in this state itself.

More than the speculated Lodgy MPV, i prefer this one to commence sales as this seems to be a perfect competitor for the Ertiga and other MPVs since it is small in size and 1.5 dci. Yet to see the the comments of members here. This one has soft and clean edges with nice tail lights and much more looker than the Lodgy.

If Renault launch this one here anyday,it will be positioned to compete with Innova only(~premium mpvs) and it will not be in the space of Ertiga/Mobilio.It is a proper 7-seater and far more spacious than the Innova. The interior finish is far superior to current gen Innova.Grand Scenic shares many parts with Fluence and so the price will be in 15-20 lac range.Indians may get 1.6 dci.
