Coverage: All-New Volkswagen Passat Rolls Out

With the launch of the All new VW Jetta, VW is also bringing its elder sibling to India next year. It is expected to reach Indian markets by February 2016.

​

For the Indian model, the new Passat’s 2.0-liter TDI engine will need to pass through Indian homologation norms and BS-4 emission norms. While the Passat’s engine complies with stricter norms in Europe, VW is likely to adapt it for BS-4 norms in India to save costs on expensive hardware, and for making it better suitable for our fuel quality. Also, compared to the previous generation Passat, VW India could increase the localization levels of the car to arrive at better pricing.

I cant believe VW has the nerve to introduce a new car model, that too in the USA when its CEO has resigned over this scandal.
This scandal has all the makings of the Enron of the automotive world. What indeed should the consumers believe in this offering from VW ?

This is first sighting of 2017 VW Passat in India and the car is completely in flesh without any camo on it. The car was doing high speed test rounds on Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The car is slated to launch for next year second quarter in India.

VW Passat Connect launched, Prices start at INR 25.99 lakh

Close on the heels of introducing the 'Connect' editions of the Polo, Ameo, and Vento, Volkswagen India has come up with a similar variant for the Passat. Dubbed simply as the VW Passat Connect, the new model has a base price of INR 25.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan-India).

Features that the VW Passat comes kitted out with include dynamic chassis control, nine airbags, hill-start assist and auto-hold, Nappa leather seats, three-zone climate control, LED headlamps with DRLs, LED tail-lamps, reverse camera with a 360-degree view, park sensors,electric adjustable front seats with heating and massage functions, and a hands-free boot opening mechanism.
