I would be really happy if Tata would bring back the 'Siera' moniker. For me, Siera was always that aspiring lifestyle SUV that pretty much the affluent class really wanted to own in those days. I still remember the former TN CM J.Jayalalitha in a Siera waving the 2-leaves symbol. It was a quite a sight to watch for ordinary folks like me. I may still not be able to afford the Q50X cars now, but with the spurt in middle class' disposable income, I think 'Siera' once again could be that dream car for an aspiring working middle class to indulge in a bit of lifestyle and luxury.
That said, I highly doubt if Tata would use 'Safari', as 'Safari' has a legacy as a rugged, Ladder-on-Frame, takes-you-anywhere SUV. Its a legend for me. I am not sure if these monocoques can do justice to these characteristics. I feel Tata will be diluting the 'Safari' and true-SUV lovers may be disappointed and not forgive Tata for such a crime
But the product as such has created a lot of expectations and hope Tata atleast release the silhouettes of these cars. I am sure they will not be retaining the Discovery design as it will kill of its more Luxurious cousin. Good luck to Tata motors. OT
: On that note, any info on Tigor with a bumped up power, especially the diesel? I am sold on it but the engine spec is really a deal breaker for me
