Ford India has stopped production of its popular Figo hatchback. During the month of December 2014, Ford dispatched a mere 151 units of the Figo . Ford India has been manufacturing the Figo in its plant in Maraimalai Nagar, Tamil Nadu
The new Ford Figo will continue to be powered by its 1.4 litre, four cylinder, common rail, turbo diesel engine. The outgoing model had a 1.2 litre petrol engine while the new model may get the company’s award winning 1.0 litre EcoBoost petrol engine, albeit without the turbocharger to keep costs in check. It would be interesting though, if Ford introduced a hot version of the new Figo with the turbo hooked to the 1.0 engine.

Re: rumour:Ford ends production of first Gen Figo

Its good thing that they have stopped production in favour of bringing All New Model. The Figo despite being a good car was getting long in the tooth, as the days went by it's sales dipped.
Going forward to 2015, I expect the New Ford Figo to replicate the success of its predecessor. Cheap Price and Good Dynamics were the core strengths of the Old Figo. Though things like Low Ground Clearance and lack of some essential bits like rear power windows were it's weaknesses.
I hope Ford recognizes the Formula for a successful product by Loading it with Features, Powering it by Good Pair of Engines, Pricng it competitively will surely see Ford getting the volumes it deserves. This formula is very successfully managed by Hyundai and it is the formula which Indians like. So let's wait and watch Fords' Strategy.
