Two questions
1. Will it come with Petrol + AT
2. How does rear legroom compare with Duster. In Duster while its a wide bench for 3, legroom is a squeeze

Spoke to Renault RM today:
1. Does not know the exact date when display car will be available but should be sometime in October
2. Tomorrow is unveil only and not launch
3. Only MT will be available in Diesel and Petrol. No AT variant will be launched

Don't know why manufacturers are shying away from launching AT variant. First Maruti with S-Cross and now Renault with Captur

Looks like a cheap looking Jeep Compass with its side profile and interior wise
They had one job, just improve Duster interiors and give it a proper AT

Doesn't it looks like a sooped up S Cross?

And Renault will price it in Creta territory?

Really looks stylish and hot. Never liked the duster looks. Only one complaint, the round center console housing looks very kwid like (reused) and looks ugly. From outside, its looking sexy but inside dashboard is a letdown.

I doubt about its success, except for fresh design & better interiors than duster, I don't know what it has got to offer. Suv's in this segment is supposed to offer Automatic and 4wd similar to Jeep Compass.

What is gonna be the unique selling feature over Duster or Jeep? - Jeep has got 4wd, all new engine, many safety features, plasma welding, off roading, different driving 4wd modes etc.

Its premium interiors? / New design? & better comfort ? - Wheelbase is identical to Duster, design is good but already 3 year old design, heading for mid-cycle facelift in Europe. It isn't fresh and imposing as Jeep. The ride is good, tad stiffer than duster but Hexa is in a different league. According to Autocar review even the rear seat knee room is nothing to write about. The interiors aren't that upmarket and hard plastics are found on the dashboard.

The engine, gearbox & auto climate control unit is same as duster. Unless priced competitively lower than Jeep compass this isn't a winner. It might have a new design, interiors, mechanically robust, reliable in the longer run and added features but it doesn't make a potential customer to seriously overlook compass, upcoming Mahindra Tivoli, Creta & Hexa.

Renault has done a Nexon here. Increased GC insanely to 210mm. Reduced height drastically wrt Duster. Now definitely headroom is highly compromised and thus loses on the SUVish feel.

re: Renault Captur Slated To Debut in India,Now Launched!

I am quite disappointed with the half-baked product that Renault has hastily cooked up in the face of the Jeep onslaught. Renault seems to think that they can charge a premium just for external looks and retain the Duster engines, which is a common norm in a mature market like Europe for instance. But in India, consumers weigh everything for their rupees worth. And if he is getting the same engines as the Duster for 3 lac more, he sure isnt going to be happy, never mind whether he is actually able to utilize the extra horses or the torque ever in the car's lifetime. To add to that are the relatively anti-climactic interiors, that simply don't gel with the stylish exteriors. Renault should have pretty much changed the car inside out, instead of giving the Duster like touchscreen and hard plastics. They worked for the Duster, but wont work for a car launched in 2017.
A wasted opportunity, in my opinion. They could have done so much more!
