The facelift looks nice and practical. I am fine with its old petrol engine. Diesel I have some reservations. Some of my friend's diesel Figo makes a kind of noise that I didn't quite like. Hope the kerb weight hasn't increased much in the facelift if lugging the same 1.2 petrol. | The new figo has a new engine its a 1.2 TiVCT not the old Rocam unit in current Figo, also as per Hary Ford, the 1.2 Figo hatch Titanium will cost around 7.40 lakhs On road for the to end Titanium+ and the diesel will cost around 8.74l OTR,
The new Figo hatch if launched at same specs as in the current Aspire it will set a benchmark thats too high for Brio,Micra,Swift,Etios LIva, etc to meet , it will be that good.
the biggest downside of new Figo hatch is boot space, its just 254 liters down from current Figos 284, but on the other side its getting better legroom for rear passengers,
Just 8 more days to go, so I think @roadrunner MUST consider Figo before commuting to Brio , I believe the new Figo hatch is going to redefine the hatchback class with its new approach |

Akash | Whether there will be Figo AT hatch back?
Any plans by Ford India to launch a sporty Figo hatch back, I had one of my friend at Chennai who once told me that Ford might launch a sporty hatch back probably naming it Ford Figo Sport with lower GC,1.5 TiVCT with 5 speed Manual, and stiffer springs and dampers, and black sporty front grille, and fat 15" tires, is this true or is Ford having any plans to rival the Polo GT Tsi,Fiat Punto 1.4 TJet, new Hyundai Sporty i20 elite,...?
How many more years might Ford support the current 1.2 Rocam Figo petrol,1.6 Petrol Classic, and 1.4 TDCI Figo and Classic, its usually 10 years but will that happen since the current Figo,Classic are already 10+ years on market?
Also the Powershift gear box warranty, its still unclear whether Ford is providing 10 years maintainance free gearbox, what does that exactly mean, is it warranty or just a Ford confidence statement since cars warranty is just 2 years or 1 lakh kms.? |

Does any of these give more than a single digit FE? | I have test driven the Aspire 1.5 AT, and have driven Micra CVT as well, also Old Honda City regular AT,and Polo GT TSi as well, from my observation Aspire AT is way better than regualr AT and CVT, its engine since being 1.5l has lot more torque than Jazzs and Micras, so it felt it had lot of torque even with 4 on board, the Micra struggled with 3 on board, the GT Tsi has the best power and AT but its much more expensive,
If Figo hatch gets a 1.5l TIVCT DCT as in Aspire, I have just one word for AT hatch buyers, blindly buy it, nothing beats a DCT and 136 NM torque, also since new gen Figo hatch is light at just 1033 kg for AT, it will feel almost like a hot hatch,
About mileage, the test drive car showed an instantaneous mileage of 6.6 kmpl, since I was driving and testing its performance, the average mileage was shown as 10.3 kmpl
The Micra CVT too showed good mileage above 11 .5 kmpl in city but its lack of power was a disappoinment and CVT wine is terrible at speeds excess of 60 kmph,
Havent driven Jazz AT, but I still dont think it will match Fords DCT. |

| Re: New Ford Figo Hatchback Testing Begins in India Here is a video walk around of the new Ford Figo Titanium TDCi
Seems like Ford has changed the variants features list, not sure which variant is this Titanium or Titanium+
There seems to be driver and passenger Airbags also side curtain Airbags, but no airbags at the seat like in Figo Aspire, so probably Titanium+ variant of Figo hatch might sport just 4 airbags and no leather seats to keep price low or to make a bigger margin between Aspire and Figo hatch
The specs are almost confirmed 100 HP TDCi
1.2 TiVCT 88 PS Petrol
But no news on AT yet
I see a winner with Ford, but the market getting super crowded with cars it wont enjoy a clean success like the 1st gen Figo did, still for the money one spends this seems best bang for the buck |

| Re: New Ford Figo Hatchback Testing Begins in India It's clearly great improvement over the previous generation Figo, albeit we're going to miss Hydraulic Steering and little boot space. But overall, it's very promising and may get good deals if it's priced right.
Nice to see Indian Market is warming up with very competitive atmosphere. The end user will have great benefit from it. As of now, I would say, Figo is going to be best Hothatch.
Seems like the above youtube link is corrupted/removed. Here it goes the other one, which is working as of now. |

| Re: New Ford Figo Hatchback Testing Begins in India On September 22, as Ford India will take the wraps off the new Figo hatchback, it will also introduce a petrol-powered auto version. Powered by the same, 1.5-litre, 112 bhp motor from the Figo Aspire, the Ford Figo Automatic will be a booster shot in the arm of the Figo hatch as an increasing number of urban buyers plonk for automatic hatchbacks. What is interesting to also note is that the 1.5 Figo won't benefit from the sub-4 metre excise duty benefit like the Figo Aspire. But, given the Aspire's competitive pricing, we expect the regular Figo 1.2 to start at about Rs 4.2-4.5 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. This would mean that the top-end Figo 1.5 auto will hover around the Rs 7.5 to 7.8 lakh mark. This should significantly undercut the VW Polo GT TSI, powered by a 104 bhp, 1.2-litre TSI engine that's priced at Rs 8.48 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. What is also interesting to note is that like the GT TSI, the Figo too will have a dual-clutch gearbox, though without manual shifting capability. Expect it to come with twin-airbags, ABS, a well-kitted out music system and other features as standard.

Now the only difference to go for a gt tsi would be bcz of the cruise control. A lakh premium for that??? |

I mean I was expecting that Ford wouldnt do a Figo hatch AT with 1.5 DCT, thats great news, but the Polo GT TSi is a different animal buddy, true the Ford DCT is awesome but VW DCT is even better, also VW is built much more tougher than Figo hatch, also the Polo is worth every penny one pays for it, Figo is a value for money choice, its like buying an 80% Polo GT TSi for 80% of GT TSi money. If one has the pocket I would say always go for Polo GT Tsi, if thats not the case go for Figo DCT or Aspire DCT, if reliability and mileage is top priority go with Honda Jazz CVT or Micra CVT,
All these AT are good but, for the price I felt Figo and Figo Aspire are giving a technology that rivals cant match. |

So Aspire wont be the major success car for Ford, the Figo hatch might hatch more eggs for Ford in terms of adding more customers as there are few hatches in India that have 90+ hp,good space, good inbuilt stereo, more than 2 Airbags, and boasting mileage of excess of 25 kmpl,
So Figo hatch is sure to redefine the class but Ford seems unlucky as always since Maruti is gearing up, the new Swift too will get a new 1.5l DDiS unit, which even if its worse than Figos will make customers again flock into showrooms,
So Ford is not going to get the market share they deserve, but at least I am happy that they have made products accessible without compromising too much on their DNA. |

But have u entered the backseat of polo. It's totally small compared to figo. So if someone who is looking for a good 5 seater hatchback without compromising on anything,I think figo is the one. Gt tsi is only meant for enthusiasts not for a family. |

Gt tsi is only meant for enthusiasts not for a family. | True back seat is small but I cant ignore the engineering done in Polo, its a better engineered car, Figo is engineered with budget in mind, thats why I told its an 80% Polo with 80% Polo TSi price tag,
If we are talking it in that aspect the new Fiesta sedan was not marketed as a hot sedan but in fact it was an under powered softly sprung hot sedan and one can never forgive Ford for making a sedan with less space while one can accommodate a hatch with less space,so regarding price I would say Polo TSI is no way overpriced and actually it was no way a hot hatch, even the old Fiesta 1.6 Duratec sedan rides and handles better than a Polo GT TSi, but the combination of effortless driving and Power and comfort and luxury feel we get in a Polo is unmatched. So at least for me that price is justified for a Polo. |
