Here are the first pics of the Crossover from Maruti. Codemaned YRB this will take on Ford EcoSport.
This all-new Maruti compact SUV will be less than four metres long, have heavily stylised and muscular exterior styling, and will likely wear its spare wheel on its tailgate.

Re: Maruti's CUV- 2016

I am in a fix now dear, reason being that Maruti Suzuki is launching the S-Cross early next year and then in 2016 if this concept is going to be shown, so, won't it be a mish-mash situation for having 2 CUV vehicles in the portfolio and both of them being new? Where will this car be positioned in the portfolio?

Regards

Akash

No mish-mash situation here. The S cross is a > 4m crossover and will compete with Duster/ Terrano and the XUV.
The YRB is a sub 4 m crossover and will take on Ford's Ecosport and will be priced competitively in this growing segment.

YRB looks pretty aggressive, my personal take - looks better than Eco sport.
i am personally not a big fan of Maruti Suzuki design language...but this one looks quite different and is good.

Mahindra will also be launching a sub 4 meter SUV in 2015 and lot of other OEMs have started looking at this segment seriously. Going forward we may see lot of action in this segment

Maruti's YBA to match Ford's Ecosport in Engine Power( diesel)
It is now rumoured to come with the same diesela s in CIAZ - 1.3DDIS.
It will be feature rich and will come in the Z+ variant -touch screen system with GPS and reverse parking camera . The other features on the YBA will be keyless entry, push start-stop, in-dash system with Bluetooth, USB and aux connectivity. The YBA is based on the Swift platform and is likely to have sporty interiors. There won’t be an all-wheel drive and this will be a two-wheel drive (front wheel drive) compact SUV.

Here is the YBA under trials, will have a spare wheel on its tail gate - which was earlier debated as a possible deletion in the CUV.

Maruti Confirms Compact SUV For India

Maruti has confirmed that it is readying an all-new compact SUV for the Indian market. Mentioned in the company's latest annual report, the compact SUV will be added to the Indian line-up soon.

We were the first ones to break the news about Maruti readying a new sub-four metre compact SUV for our market, last year. This new SUV (Codename: YBA) will be the first Maruti offering to rival the likes of the EcoSport, and the upcoming Mahindra TUV300. This new SUV is arguably the 'more exciting one' when compared to the brand’s other upcoming model, the YRA premium hatch.

Maruti has already begun testing this new SUV on Indian roads. It is likely to borrow styling cues from the XA-Alpha compact SUV shown earlier and the new Suzuki Vitara SUV sold overseas. In line with the company's recent launches such as the Ciaz and the S-Cross, the new Maruti compact SUV too could come with a lot of equipment on offer.

The new Maruti compact SUV will be powered by a 1.3-litre diesel motor. This is the same engine that does duty in every Suzuki diesel model sold in India, except for the Celerio. Like the recently launched S-Cross, we expect Maruti to offer safety features such as ABS and airbags across all variants of this new compact SUV.
