Hope the taxes also change, we here in Karnataka pay probably the highest in the country.

Hope bureaucrats & Traffic police amends it in the real proposed way. I am no more optimistic about it.

Its a welcome, much awaited and most deserving change in our country.

The proposal looks good. But there should also be a layout planned to implement these into our current system, which varies from state to state.
Alongside, the authorities should make sure that it gets actually implemented, and not just on records, which is the case for majority of the laws in our country.

Anyhow, wishing the authorities on at least trying to bring in a change.

Great move indeed for asking public opinion. Everyone please mail them regarding the need of ABS and driver airbag from base variant cars. At least ABS. Govt should make laws to make sure the safety of people and not to make profits for industries.

Yes, along with stiff fines authorities should give equal attention to implementation plan. Authorities should also focus: How to give licence only to those who deserve it, How to catch somebody who escaped after violating law, How to handle people in power etc.

Only Strict implementation of laws could deter violators up to some extent.
