Mahindra NuvoSport launched at Rs 7.35 lakh
Mahindra and Mahindra today launched their compact SUV NuvoSport at a starting price of Rs 7.35 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).
The NuvoSport which has been launched to take on Maruti Suzuki's latest offering the Vitara Brezza and Ford's Ecosport, is an upgraded Quanto with a new front fascia and refreshed interiors. The rear is more or less the same as the outgoing Quanto.
Mahindra's decision to redesign and relaunch the Quanto with a new name came after it launched the TUV300, a sub-four metre SUV which would have eaten into the Quanto's sales. In order to preserve the Quanto, the company decided to upgrade it and relaunch a near-identical model.
The NuvoSport is Mahindra's second sub-four metre, seven seater SUV. Both the cars come with AMT gearbox options.
The NuvoSport comes equipped with a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder mHawk diesel engine that is mated to a 5-speed gearbox that churns out 100bhp of power and 240Nm torque.
There are two drive modes available in the car - power and economy. Built on Mahindra's new generation platform, the compact SUV comes loaded with a comfort suspension and anti-roll techonologies ensuring comfortable ride and handling.
Compared to the rough and tough TUV300, the NuvoSport is a more refined vehicle for the urban market.
The insides of the NuvoSport aren't much different from the Quanto, with some features being brought in from the newer TUV300.
Among the prominent features available in Mahindra's latest offering are a touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, leather upholstery, cruise control, front dual airbags and ABS
. The NuvoSport is also avilable with the option of dual airbags and ABS
as an option on the lower variants.
The NuvoSport comes in six variants - N4, N4+, N6, N6 AMT, N8 and N8 AMT. The mid and top variants get the AMT gearbox option.
