Reddy sir like you i have ..like many others grown old in waiting fof tatas small diesel engines. Vision in hind site allways sounds clever ut a disel nano could have saved tata some blushes.
Seems like though that moment too may have passed?

Re: 0.8L Dicor TCIC engine from TATA Motors

800cc Deisel engine in the TATA NANO or Kite seems unviable. As it is, any car company cannot bring in a noisy puny 2 cylinder engine, even Maruti Celerio's Deisel engined variant will no way be a success, even the Nano to be precise. This is because a car is no more a utilitarian but a luxury for Indians.

Better refine on these pistons and add two more cylinders, and finally a 1.6 liter engine is ready. They need to compete in the City, Vento, Verna segment too. And this engine coupled with a new and 2nd gen (new) Manza platform will be ready to take on this C+ segment.

The next gen Modular platform based C+ Sedan which I expect Tata motors to develop by 2016-17 or at least 17-18

Not only this a new SUV on this modular platform a-la CRV/Vitara can also use this engine.

At least TATA need to introduce micro Van Based on TATA Ace Platform with 0.8L DICOR TCIC engine and a Turbo Charged version of 624cc 2 Cylinder MPFI engine this is a very good option to revive the maruti Omni and Eeco [clap]
