Toyota beats Maruti Suzuki to top J.D Power sales satisfaction index

So finally is a disturbing news from the Indian Automotive World. Maruti Suzuki has finally been toppled from the top spot in the 2014 J. D power customer satisfaction index in the sales satisfaction category.

Maruti has been the undisputed king in all the satisfaction surveys, be it sales, service, quality or anything else. But finally TOYOTA has managed to snatch one of the honors from Maruti Suzuki. Toyota has been honored with best Sales satisfaction at the Dealer level including the ready availability to the required model.

Overall all the car companies have managed to up the average with Mahindra for the first time barged above the Industry average and TATA Motors climbing several steps and almost reached then industry average.

But as always, Chevrolet, Ford, Renault, Nissan, et al, are still in the relax mood and show no signs of repent.

IAB Report- Toyota beats Maruti Suzuki to top J.D Power sales satisfaction index

A new report on sales satisfaction from JD Power India shows that overall sales satisfaction in the mass market segment has gone up by 16 points on a 1,000 point scale that the agency uses. More importantly, the overall satisfaction is driven up by an upward spike in delivery timing and delivery process.

As far as OEMs are concerned, the survey shows that customers are most satisfied with Toyota Kirloskar Motors. Maruti Suzuki ranks second and tied at third are Honda, Mahindra and Hyundai.

Re: J. D Power Survey- Maruti finally beaten

I saw that coming. Recently, Maruti has been showing a lot of arrogance.

Surprised to see that Mahindra is on the third position, along with the Japanese & Korean giants. This is inspite of the XUV having so many niggles. Shows that a good service support can make a customer happy, even if the vehicle is giving trouble.

Also surprised to see Skoda doing better than VW!

Sad to see FIAT digging it's own grave. They make such wonderful cars.

Re: J. D Power Survey- Maruti Suzuki Finally Beaten

This is for the sales satisfaction Index. Here they don't go above 1 year after sales. What about the Service sector ? I want Maruti to know how bad they are now at Service. Maruti is like the sleeping rabbit . They thought they achieved and living a happy life not knowing the sand moving below them.
Anyway cheers to Toyota for their Innova and Etios which gave them this award !

Toyota- i think the cars are pretty trouble free-surprised that the liva and etios are not doing better-perhaps price is a big factor at that level of vehicle
Tata still below industry average-not a good sign if they want to get back to the winners podium in sales; Most marks were for the sales experience-from what TAI members have been writing about the Zest-seems v positive for most but some not so happy-that should read all happy[:)]

The cost cutting is so evident that though the vehicle is trouble free, but irritable and cheap own one.

TATA was at one of the lowest circuits just above VW, SKODA, RENAULT, CHEVROLET, ET AL. But it has managed to climb a few spots. The report filed here is of the previous 6 months - Jan to June 2014. Horizonnext programme has just begun with enrolling of new staff and trained and renovations of showrooms. So we'll have to wait for Jun to Dec 14 report.

Mahindra seems to have done it quite well and silently, has managed to jumped many places up. Infact it was many places below TATA, but has surprised us all at one shot. Hope they do at the quality and service level too.

Re: J. D Power Survey- Maruti Suzuki Finally Beaten

Market Share of Car Manufacturers in July 2014
Maruti Suzuki 46.4%, Toyota 6.14% - That means Maruti has satisfy 46.4 customers while Toyota has to satisfy 6.14 out of 100 people. It's easy to satisfy small group for long time & big group for short time, but difficult to satisfy big group for long time. That's what happening to Maruti Suzuki in spite of Japanese culture.

TATA is ranked number 3 with 834 points in the latest survey. Great. Looks like things are really improving fast in TML with the new management et al.

IAB Report - J.D. Power survey finds diesel vehicle quality in India significantly improved.

Surprised to see City having higher problems compared to Rapid, Vento. I think the initial batches were studied hence the dip.

But what caught my eyes were
1. Honda Brio having lowest score in the entire list !
2. Skoda Rapid securing the 2nd lowest score in the list.
Note - Lower the score, better quality performance.

Really proud to own these beauties. And they have showed what they can do. Anyone who said Brio's Quality being inferior, you now have the answer. (No offence meant).

@nishant - extending dhoom9 logic - Honda sold about 55,000+ City in this year, where as sales of Rapid and Vento is less than 10k each.

Not sure whether how the huge number difference impact the calculation. The same logic holds good for Brio also.

When we have Initial Quality Survey (IQS) covering the feedback from recent owners, a similar survey on long term ownership should reveal the fact of many cars.

True to the reports and pathetic quality levels of the Current Honda City ranks the lowest in the Midsize Segment
City is not lowest in the segment, we may call it lowest in Top 3. There are many other cars below City.
