Hyundai Verna 4S Facelift Now Launched

Bolder looking Hyundai Verna headed to India; to come with 6-speed automatic gearbox for petrol variant.
Hyundai has unveiled the updated Verna sedan in the Russian market which is sold there with the name Solaris. The same to be in India late 2014.

The updated car gets extensive styling tweaks that make the front end look much larger and very different from the current Verna. The headlamps are much bigger than the current units and so to bring the styling more in the line with the newer Hyundai offerings such as the recently facelifted Sonata sedan. The grille now comes with two slats instead of a single slat setup and the chin is much larger than on the older car giving it a more proportionate look.

Also very different are the fog lamps, the side profile continues as before and alloy wheels are carried over from the recently updated car as well. The Verna’s rear styling also gets minor tweaks such as mildly re-styled tail lamps with LED inserts and a restyled bumper with larger reflectors and a black lip.

^^ It looks damn sexy and I think I will go with face-lifter Verna rather than Ciaz, if the changes are worthy and notable.

Sharing a few more shots. Front design appears to be more in line with that of far-expensive Genesis.

Those who used to find existing model's front design too flashy might have a better time with this one.

2015 Hyundai Verna Facelift Commences Testing In India [Spotted]

Competition in the C-segment is only becoming more intense by the day and that has worried the top sellers. The Hyundai Verna was at one point of time the highest selling car in its class but the Honda City came and won back its top spot which it has enjoyed for a major part of last decade. Soon Maruti Suzuki will launch the Ciaz and the vehicle can cause a dent in the sales of others cars in the segment. Hyundai plans to launch an update to the Verna to counter the Japanese attack and the company has just started testing the 2015 Hyundai Verna which was spotted by our reader Cibhi in Thandalam, Chennai.
The 2015 Hyundai Verna is the same car which is called Solaris in Russia and was updated recently with a new front-end design, inspired from the Sonata and Genesis. While the cosmetic changes remain minimum in other places, the front is largely different and gives the Verna a new identity. The rear remains the same too with minor changes while the updates to the interiors are quite limited too. Hyundai is likely to add more features to the car, the Verna is already quite a loaded vehicle with a ton of equipment on offer.
The bigger change to the 2015 Hyundai Verna would be under the body as the company plans to extensively revise the suspension to further improve the dynamics of the car, bringing it in direct competition with its Japanese rivals. Hyundai plans to extensively test the new Verna so that it can iron out the neutral dynamics of the car in lieu of a more engaging experience. Hyundai already made changes to the Verna earlier this year and although the improvements were immediately apparent, they did little to make the Verna a fun to drive car. The launch of the updated Verna will take place in the first quarter of next year.

Nothing special done , Hyundai should launch it soon as new city and Ciaz eating their market.

The current gen verna looks so proportionate from all angles. The curvy lines flows smoothly and compliment fluidic styling strongly.
But this updated verna look as if designers just put sonata-like face on our beautiful verna . The face does not gel with overall fluidic theme.

For a moment I felt its a rip off from Toyota Corolla going by the front design. Headlamps appear to be replicating the Ciaz and the tail lamps are not new either. Given the fact that LED type of lamps are popular and easily available now, So, this design of tail lamps can be easily replicated without even buying this Verna face-lift. Only thing that can set it apart from the herd is the under-the-hood changes. (if there are any.)

Verna facing the heat of Ciaz release, plans for the facelift launch in 2015(Feb?).
Spy shots show it being tested in Chennai.
The car will be having larger headlamps, a new twin-slat grille, redesigned front bumper with restyled fog lamps and DRL's , wider air dam placed lower in the bumper, the tail lamps with LEDs and a slightly tweaked rear bumper with restyled reflectors.

Looks like there are only cosmetic changes apart from providing the 6 speed auto box, while engines remain the same.

For many, current Verna is still best looking sedan even after the launch of new City & Ciaz.

Few problems current generation Verna has-
1. Poor ride quality due to too soft suspension system. They stiffened it for 2014 models, but way to go.
2. Vague steering feedback. Cross 100 and there is very little response from the steering.
3. Poor cornering ability (result of 1+2)
4. Rear leg room

Verna has the segment best engines (in terms of power output) and if they improve ride quality and steering feedback, it would be the segment best sedan in all means!

BTW unless the wheel-base is increased, it would be difficult to free space for rear leg room. And looking at the news, looks like they are retaining the same wheelbase

And Hyundai, please bring back 6 airbags again!!!

Spied – A couple of refreshed Hyundai Vernas test ahead of the launch early next year

A couple of prototypes of the refreshed Hyundai Verna were snapped testing on the outskirts of Chennai by a reader of RushLane recently. The test mules were apparently equipped with an all-new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment/navigation system.

Features like projector headlights and LED daytime running lights will continue to be seen on the new model but the latter will be repositioned into the bumper.

The rear end is bound to get LED taillights and a new bumper with a redesigned apron. There are no changes to the sides of the car (the test mule here sports the same diamond cut alloy wheels), or even to the interior.

2015 Hyundai Verna Facelift! Caught without camo


- Updated front-end. New grill, headlamps, foglamps & bumper.
- Headlamps now house projectors.
- Foglamps appeared to have an LED strip over them.
- Redesigned tail-lamps which looked like LEDs. Can't say for sure as he didn't see the car braking.
- New rear bumper & integrated reflectors.
- The alloy wheel design seemed to be different.
- Interiors are more or less the same as the current Verna.

The new front part looks more stylish than current version but there is no change except taillamp.

It can become a worthy facelift if hyundai improves the driving dynamics of the car, mostly the suspensions. The engine is the biggest in its class and is also the most powerful of them all and doesnt require any upgrade. Just that the build quality should improve and this car can regain its lost position in the market!
