Whoever tells me what exactly the USP of S Cross will get an éclairs from my side.
I have been trying to think what exactly is the USP which makes it different and worth the money they are asking for but is unable to find one till now.
This is a car that was supposed to be competing with Ecosport in its 1.3l version and Duster in its 1.6l version but is competing with...err..I don't know. Pricing is horrendous for something that an i20 can beat in cabin ambience and a GT TDi can beat in performance. Duster can kill in space, ride and bad road absorbing ability.
Heck, I'd personally compare the regular 1.3 with i20 and the performance bomb(as MSIL maybe thinking) 1.6 to GT TDi, going above that will be injustice. GT TDi comes for less than 10 lac and can have this S Cross thing as breakfast in its plate and the 6 lac I am saving can be used for modding the GT and its full maintenance and fuel for 1 lac kms.
And yes, the VW logo still commands more respect than the 'S' logo. bTW
I somewhere read that the Polo 1.8GTi will be priced around 18 lac and if it is so then?
One thing for sure, after the pricing of Creta and S Cross announced, the theory of relativity comes into picture and proves that Aria and Innova are priced right.
And scary is the feeling that how will Toyota price its new Innova and Fortuner after looking at the pricing by MSIL, Hyundai and Honda for their latest offerings.
