GM working on emerging-markets low cost car code named ‘Amber’, possible the Spark successor.

In India GM seems to have lost the plot with its Chinese designed offerings and lackluster marketing!

In all likelihood, the Amber could replace the Chevrolet Spark sold in India

The car is code named ‘Project Amber’, and will enter Brazilian showrooms by 2017. According to early reports, the small car (knows as ‘Project Jade’ earlier) will not be restricted to the Brazilian market, but will be meant for other emerging countries as well.

GM's Project Amber has already entered the design stage, and media reports indicate that GM has asked its part suppliers for initial cost estimates.

Amber is NOT a new car , but GM codenamed the program as ‘Amber’ that will consist of 3 different vehicle classes, hatchback, compact sedan and a compact SUV( similar to Honda's - Brio, Amaze and Mobilio)
GM's priority for India is as follows:
1. A compact SUV.
2.GM plans to introduce a premium hatchback that will compete with Swift
3. Compact sedan
The new platform will feature design language from GM’s compact SUV concept ‘Adra’ which was showcased at 2014 AutoExpo in India.
The cars based on the Amber platform are expected to arrive in the Indian market by 2017.

Compact SUV from GM: Is Ford Ecosport their chief Rival?

Premium Hatch by GM: Then what about the Sail Hatch that was recently re-launched? In a span of three years would GM discontinue it?

GM's Compact sedan: That is interesting. The sub-4 meter segment will be further spiced up[clap].

Above all, the main concern is just that all these vehicles by GM should be developed and launched with full consciousness about the quality of technical/ mechanical aspects so that non of them would be re-called.
