Am going to see the Baleno tomorrow when I get my Swift serviced. My Swift is just a year old but I didn't realise how much trouble my mom has in getting in and out of the rear seat. Plus my VXI has indifferent brakes and I am always concerned the thing will not stop sometime. And the Baleno has ABS
and airbags from the base.
The way I see it, the base version doesn't have wheel covers (which can be added), HU and speakers (which I am already invested in), a rear defogger (again not a deal breaker), no chrome handles (can be added). It does have electrically adjusted mirrors which you have to open manually (not really a loss, that's what I do in the Swift). So if the back seat is easy to get in and out of, I may look for upgrading. And I don't mind a couple of months waiting period- I would take delivery in the new year in any case
The Delta model also make a case for itself in terms of split rear seats and auto climate control though.
