TAICOTY Logo.png

Let me first take this as an opportunity to wish a Happy New Year to all TAI-GERs. Our favorite and much awaited Car of the Year awards are back! Previous year was no ordinary in the history of TAI-COTY. The Automotive India turned out to be the first ever online automobile publication to hand over physical award to the winner. No guesses. This year is not going to be any different. The manufacturer of the winning car will be honored with a prestigious ‘The Automotive India Car of the Year – 2013’ Trophy on behalf of entire The Automotive India family as our little gesture to encourage new developments and advanced products in the Indian automotive industry. Furthermore, the basic motto of TAI-COTY continues to remain the same: Providing the definitive picture of the most admired car among Indian audience. I’m already excited. You?

The forum moderators have shortlisted certain cars based on specific criteria:

> The cars launched in India between December 2012 to December 2013.

> Only the all-new and new generation models are included. Just facelifts do not qualify for TAI-COTY.

> High-end car models have been kept out considering their minor market share in Indian auto sector.

> The term ‘car’ is not limited to body types such as hatchback, sedan etc. but also includes SUVs / MUVs.

The voting criteria are based on typical requirements of an Indian car buyer. You should take into account atleast the following aspects before voting (in no particular order):

> Fuel Efficiency

> Value for Money

> Luxury & Comfort

> Safety & Security

> Engine & Performance

> After Sales & Brand Image

Note:

> Starting from now onwards, this poll is open for one month. i.e. till Feb 1, 2014.

> TAICOTY results will be announced subsequently, followed by unveiling and handing over of the trophy to the winner.

UPDATE (March, 26 2014): Ford EcoSport has been announced as The Automotive India Car of the Year 2013. Catch all action on Page 4 of this thread.

This is what Mr.Vinay Piparsania (Executive Director, Sales, Service and Marketing) has to say to TAI members and visitors:

i guess it has to be the Ecosport for me. Ford has gotten it right with the looks, performance, economy, and features of the car bang on. just some teething issues of delivery are there but overall its a VFM product that has all potential to rock the market.

Voted for the baby SUV from Ford. Clearly it stands out from the crowd and has created a segment of its own. As an overall product and the price at which it has been offered is pretty good. Only let down is the management of the deliveries of cars from the manufacturer. Ford has been extremely poor on that front. But overall, Ford Ecosport gets my vote for the TAI's Car of the year for 2013.

Ecosport is a winner here no doubts, but i have anyway voted for Amaze because as per me it's the car which has every aspect well proportioned, firstly the price, great FE, then diesel heart,Spacious seats, a "Honda" and better A.S.S.

My Vote was for Ecosport, but somehow i wasn't convinced after the price hikes and lessening the features which didn't seem much for asking, adding bobo here has not so spacious interiors.

Let us see what happens.

A special thanks to 350Z for putting up my enjoy here!

Thanks for the Poll.

I've voted for the car which I've got before so many people who are still waiting for it. Sorry! I just used power of Social Media and it worked for me. And I did mention it on forum here about the dealer who seems to have quite an inventory.

So my vote goes for my mean machine, ECOSPORT [:)]

Beautiful lineup.
My vote for EcoSport. Second goes to i10Grande.
IMHO, Amaze is anything but a honest car. It will get the numbers but not the respect of a car designed to be itself. It has taken things from Dzie (4mtr), Brio (platform) and diesel success story (From competition).

BTW When this poll is closing?

I personally feel Ecosport brought a revolution in compact SUV market, on other hand Amaze is an evolution. So it should be Ecosport->Amaze->Grandi10-> followed by others.
