Mahindra Recalls 23,519 Units of Scorpio EX Variant

Mahindra & Mahindra today said it will recall 900 units of a variant of its popular sports utility vehicle Scorpio, manufactured between October and November this year, to rectify faulty pressure valve.

"Mahindra will carry out preventive replacement of a pressure regulating valve in 900 units of only Scorpio's Ex variant which were manufactured between October/November 2013," the company said in a statement.

The replacement will be carried out with immediate effect and would be done free of cost.

Thanks for the info. My Uncle is planning for the same model as December is the month to get the best discounts. Can you suggest if we should wait for the next lot of production or it fine to get a vehicle from the same lot.

Nothings wrong with getting the vehicle this time, just get it checked when is the vehicle manufactured and if it gets into the same lot, it is checked verified and replaced sensors before delivery.

You can get the VIN no. from the dealer of the selected car and if it is from the same batch as for the ones being re-called, ask the dealer to change the faulty part. There's hardly any reason to delay the purchase as this is just a precautionary re-call.

December surely is the time to get some amazing discounts on cars. What is the deal being offered to you on the Scorpio EX?

The current VIN numbers in Pune are of Oct-Nov Slot I ask the Sales guys about the same but as usual he said nothing as such will check once again or else would proceed as they are offering a good dicound of 50 K

Mahindra Recalls Scorpio EX Variant

Mahindra Ltd, will recall 23,519 units of Scorpio Ex variant for potential faulty pressure regulating valves. The affected vehicles were manufactured between May 2012 and November 2013.
This is the second recall of Scorpio in less than a year. The company had earlier recalled 985 units of the same Ex variant manufactured between October and November 2013 for faulty pressure regulating valves.
