| Re: Tata Reveals Bolt Hatchback & Zest Compact Sedan (Coverage: Page 10 & 45) It is a fact that once the hype is gone (other than after sales) the reliability will determine sales. How can we predict this now?
I want to say it will be superb, but that only comes from actual customer experience.
Looks are subjective ,but from the sales of marutis not so pretty cars it would appear that is NOT number 1 in our national priority-what say? |

Tata Motors has been pinning a lot of hope on new launches like the entry-level sedan Zest to turn around its dwindling fortunes in the domestic passenger vehicles market. And if the Zest’s August sales numbers are anything to go by, it seems to be on the right track.
Zest sold 2,671 units in August, according to data sourced exclusively from Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). SIAM had not given out the first month sales numbers for the Zest publicly. To be sure, the Zest was launched on August 12 and therefore the sales numbers for that month are for only around 20 days.
The traction that Tata Motors’ passenger vehicles sales has gained from the Zest is evident from the fact that Zest sales constituted nearly a quarter of the 10,975 vehicles that the carmaker sold in August. The new launch helped the company improve its sales numbers over July, in which month it sold 9,167 vehicles.

The numbers looks very promising for Tata Motors. All their efforts are paying back to generate a brand name in the cities across the country.

| Re: Tata Reveals Bolt Hatchback & Zest Compact Sedan (Coverage: Page 10 & 45) TML badly needed a product that can get them back on track. They have done exactly that with Zest. The start is good. It would be interesting to see where the monthly sales figure settles, after the initial euphoria. Bolt is another product that is capable to spell success. I don't think there will be issues with reliability with these products. Vista, Manza and the products launched thereafter have no or minute issues, just like any other manufacturer. For now TML needs to bump up production and bring as many Zest's on the roads. Its high time to capitalize the success of Zest so that it can be carried on to Bolt too. Just like the way Swift did it for Dzire, and Amaze did it for Mobilio. All the very best TATA Motors |

| Re: Tata Reveals Bolt Hatchback & Zest Compact Sedan (Coverage: Page 10 & 45) 2,671 seems lower than average for a new launch, especially considering how much this segment is capable of. I am a Tata user for the past 9 years, and will I consider a Zest ? Not unless they win my trust back. The Zest shows a lot of promise , but what about registering on the buyer's radar ? Tata must be missing Mr.Slym more than ever. |

Swift to come with AMT in both petrol and diesel in November launch according to zigwheels and many magazines. So do u guys think still bolt is better than swift. Ha ha.. Tata had a chance in its hand. But product launching strategy was in its worst. |

Tata is already as down as it could be(look at very low sales of Indica+Vista sisters). Surely with Swift AMT or not, Bolt is bound to do better no.s than Vista. I feel that the biggest challenge for Bolt is not Swift or any other hatchback, but its own elder brother the Zest(as we Indians tend to prefer the 3 box cars more). |

But Bolt will win new customer base for Tatas |

First mover advantage is all but dead. Its not the 90s where every new car sold like hot cakes. |

Bolt will be a success only if they price it really well.(say 30k-35k below swift)
Also depends how zest experiences are recorded by the owners. |

Exactly. Like they had placed the pricing of Zest below the i20 elite. Both were launched in space of 1 day (if I mistake not)
I am sure Tatas will definitely up the game with killer features and killer pricing to top it all. Yes Swift will sell in obscenely huge numbers but Bolt too will get its fair share.
It all depends on the word of mouth publicity and experience of Zest. (which so far touchwood is pretty positive.)
Read some where that Zest have clocked 18K booking across india. That should be a good platform for Bolt to bolt ahead. |

If v consider a diesel AMT(I'm not sure whether they're is one) both Tata and Suzuki got same engine so people will plonk money in the 1st launched one, if it ticks all boxes. Now bolt will never be a competitor for swift for sure. Our else Bolt should be priced that competitively which v have to see soon.
