Awesome,hope they tune it like they have done in Swift.If its gonna have a light clutch,boy oh boy what a killer it could turn out to be.This is one of the best news of recent times.Maruti does have to be given the credit for being bold.

SX4 crossover competes with cars like Skoda Yeti, Nissan Qahqai etc in UK. So it would be priced in the range of 12 lacs against Duster. Maruti should offer 1.6 multijet in other cars soon,though it wont happen in near future

If FIAT lets Maruti import/manufacture 1.6 L MJD, they could have used in new Linea. Lets wait till new Linea launch.

Sources do tell linea facelift will get 1.6 multijet, but its Suzuki who has mastered perfect tuning of multijet and superior gearbox of Suzuki. So I am more interested about 1.6 multijet in suzuki cars,maruti should get it soon to dominate the market

Why can't Fiat India manufacture this engine at their Pune plant where they still have idle capacity, I guess Maruti is going to plonk this engine in their latest c segment sedan which will be showcased in the upcoming auto expo.

1.6 MJD with a state of tune at 120ps and 320 nm. In other words, let's expect a good amount of turbo lag too. No issues, gearbox is there to counter the turbo lag - if used right way.

Coming to the point, if MS can provide a Swift with 1.6 MJD, though it will be a niche but will make for a fantastic road rocket(Like VW GT TDI). The engine can find its way under the hoods of SX-4, Ertiga and yes..Kizashi too. Rest let's see what MS will be having for us in Auto expo. BTW, what about the XA-Alpha concept? Maybe the 4X4 SUV will get 1.6 MJD.

FIAT rocks.
But we want to see in which car this Engine will be fitted in FIAT models.
Whether they will think of a new models in SUV,LUV categories.
