Honda has made world-premiere of the fourth generation City this noon in Delhi. Although limited information was disclosed but here are the important pointers from event:
> Pre-launch bookings have already begun. The car goes on sale in India in January 2014.
> Targeted towards ‘Young and Ambitious’. New City is Honda’s counter attack in Indian market.
> Honda follows ‘H’ design philosophy. H stands for human centered. Man maximum. Machine minimum.
> Honda is regretful about long waitlist on Amaze. Third shift at Noida plant will now make things easier.
> New Honda City will be equipped with a 1.5L Petrol (i-Vtec) and much awaited 1.5L Diesel (i-Dtec) engine.
> The i-Vtec has been improved. Both the engines also claim to offer a better mileage than the competition.
> Length continues to remain the same but wheelbase has been extended to 2600 MM for more roominess.
> Similarly, overall height is also increased by 10 MM. The car now sits on a new high-balance chassis system.
> Touch screen to control the air conditioner vents is a first in class and going to be the most unique feature.
> 5” head unit equipped with 8 speakers has minimum buttons for simplicity. It supports Bluetooth, hands free, rear camera, wallpapers and basic audio functions.
> More new features include start stop button, rear A/C vents, sunroof, shark fin antenna, four 12V sockets, cruise control, multi-info instrument cluster with ambient meter.
