Hyundai Discontinues 1.2-litre Kappa2 Engine For I10 In India

That means Grand i10 AT launch must be imminent; otherwise the move has left a hole in Hyundai lineup with no entry level AT hatch.

The i10 Sportz AT and Asta AT are quite good movers in Bangalore.

the difference in prices between the i10 and i10 grand was minimal, and hence to reduce cannibalization, and move users to the newer grand, this indeed looks like a well thought of and correct step..

This was on the cards. I wonder why they did not scrap the model i10 as a whole as Maruti did for Wagon R in 2010.

Good. Customers have more choices to choose from in the hatchback segment. If they scrape a model I think Santro will be the first one to go. Its age old plus now the i10 can take its place.

Hyundai has cut down features on the old i10. I saw a brand new Magna version today with -

No Wheel Caps
No Rear Power Windows
No Blinkers on ORVM
No Body Colour ORVM/Door Handles.

In short they have re badged Era as Magna now.

I do not understand why dont they discontinue the model.

Anshuman, old i10 irde2 1.1L magna never had blinkers on ORVM
It was on their 1.2 kappa2 manga and onwards variants.
