Couple of weeks ago, while negotiating with the Potholes on the Highway to Chennai, happened to miss one of them and heard a huge "Tankkkk" sound from the Front Left side. The sound was similar to of Rim hit the Road and got down to check for Rim Bends. Found none luckily. But what that sound was? Or bent from inside? Left it to ambiguities.
However, heard the same sound many times later when went over such unavoidable potholes and bad roads. Anything to do with the suspensions? Note - It's not the regular "Thud" sound from the suspension. It was like something broken every time or two metals are hitting each other.
I remembered then, mine was part of the Recall this time and got the RTB replaced just a week before this incident. Something to do with the RTB replacement?
After some busy routine and much delayed, I visited FASS today. Well, my guess wasn't wrong. RTB change was the culprit. Some of the nuts weren't fastened properly or as per the required Torque. Eg: The suspension nut should have been 105 Nm which wasn't. Checked all the nuts & fastened them completely. 10 Mins job. And wasn't required if it was done properly while changing the RTB. Hmmm, anyways, fixed now at least. Courtesy by, Metro Ford, Lingarajapuram.
