Top 10 Hot Selling Cars in April 2013

The difference isn’t much in last month's chart if compared with that of March 2013. Save for Indica which has reappeared in the top-ten sellers.

April 2013 Market Share of Car Manufacturers

Apart from Hyundai, rest of the carmakers have witnessed either a decline or a marginal increase in market share in April 2013.

Please note that the market share is based on total sales of the specified manufacturers only (i.e: High-end carmakers excluded).

Chevrolet April 2013 Indian Car Sales Figures

Even prior the launch, Enjoy has managed to fetch almost 700 booking orders. It remains to be seen whether this trend continues or not.

Fiat April 2013 Indian Car Sales Figures

Fiat’s sales tend to move downward as usual. Presently, Grande Punto is their only saving grace.

Ford April 2013 Indian Car Sales Figures

New Fiesta, after a while, has clocked sales in three digits. We drove the upcoming Ecosport lately, it certainly has a potential to turn the tables at Ford.

Hindustan Motors & Mitsubishi April 2013 Indian Car Sales Figures

Good ol’ Amby proves its mettle yet again. HM-Mitsubishi has observed a 90% increase in sales this month.

Honda April 2013 Indian Car Sales Figures

Honda is revving up hard with Amaze. It has earned more figures to their credit which Jazz and Civic couldn’t do, combined.

Hyundai April 2013 Indian Car Sales Figures

Accent, which enjoyed a fair share in the market till last month has sold merely 87 units in April. Is it a hint for Hyundai to bid adieu to the legend?

Mahindra & SsantYong April 2013 Indian Car Sales Figures

The affect of revised tax structure on SUVs is now evident in Mahindra’s sales figures. As per press release, they’re still optimistic and hoping to generate buzz soon with launch of Verito Vibe.

Maruti Suzuki April 2013 Indian Car Sales Figures

Maruti Suzuki’s overall domestic sales which used to hover at lakh have settled around 90K units per month. Amusingly, one Grand Vitara found a home last month.

Nissan April 2013 Indian Car Sales Figures

Nissan Evalia has hit a freefall when everyone thought it’s doing just alright. Times could get tougher for Nissan, now that Chevrolet Enjoy is out with its own USPs at competitive price.

Renault April 2013 Indian Car Sales Figures

Almost a thousand units drop in Duster’s figures on MoM basis. Nevertheless, it sustains the position in top ten sales chart last month.

Skoda April 2013 Indian Car Sales Figures

Each figure in Skoda’s chart on YoY basis is prefixed with a minus. A steady drop in Fabia’s overall sales is saddening.

Tata Motors April 2013 Indian Car Sales Figures

The blend of market slowdown and Tata Motors’ own issues has ended up them struggling. Do you have anything to opine? Check this out (http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...-wrong-tata-motors-open-letter-karl-slym.html).

Toyota April 2013 Indian Car Sales Figures

Not a strong month for Toyota Kirloskar either. The sales of much popular Corolla sedan have dipped as low as 353 units.

Volkswagen April 2013 Indian Car Sales Figures

Volkswagen’s numbers took a slight dive too. Anyhow, reasonable numbers from their mass-sellers ensures VW doesn’t have too much to be concerned.

Big loss for Tata/Nano[frustration]

Overall, the sales figures are going down. It shows market is not in good shape, people are holding back purchases.

Xuv losing the sale because of its problematic electronics and may be a recall they did.we TAI's can understand the comitment of company towards its customer but common man will consider the product as bad.
Tata storme is going in aria way
Where 10 years old design scorpio sales about 4000+ in every month tata has to do good marketing, other wise once new scorpio releases to the market then it will be really difficult for tata to regain the market of SUV.
TATA is going down every month they has to increase the quality level to sustain in the market otherwise soon they will compete with their technology partner Fiat at the bottom
Fiat has to bring new products to emerge from current condition.
Nissan is in very bad condition now a days i am not seeing any ads about their cars. After giving low emi for suuny and micra they are not saleing in expected numbers.

I think you need to wait till May sales figures.
You cant beat march (Year end) sales figures easily in April. All will be canvasing heavily to sell cars to make big 'Turn Over' for the financial year.

Still Alto tops No.1 ! Hope to see Honda in top 10 list soon with Amaze

Dismal show by almost all manufacturers in the month of April. Surprised to see the sink in sales of Innova and Fortuner. More than 50% drop in month on month sales for Innova. XUV sales dipping with every passing month. I think they will eventually settle down at 2k mark which for a 12lac + car is still remarkable.

A month to forget for the likes of Ford Figo, Chevrolet Beat who consistently clock around 5k mark. Nissan Sunny isn't doing that well either as it was doing a bit earlier.

Renault Duster surely has hit the sweet spot with the Indian car buyers. The market just doesn't seem to get enough of this unconventional SUV. Even with those price hikes the demands haven't slowed down. Would be eager to see it battle out with the upcoming Ford Ecosport in sales numbers.

Amaze eating into the sales of Brio and City?[surprise] Or is it some production issue in the Honda plant?

Average month for Rapid and Vento with sales of both under 2k mark. Verna seems to be flying off the shelves even after 2 years of the launch with 4.8k cars.

Etios and Liva are again doing their regular numbers of around 2k mark even after the updated interiors. Significantly less than last month's dispatches.

Official market duds now - Fiat Linea, Ford new Fiesta, Tata Aria, Skoda Fabia, Nissan Evalia. All of them are brilliant cars IMO, some are lacking brand reliability issues and some have been just overpriced from day1. Ford needs to bring in the new Global Fiesta which was launched in China a month back in the Indian market and price it aggressively this time. Fiat needs to launch new products in its portfolio to gain some recognition in our market. Else i don't see them rising back anytime soon.

Excellent thread 350Z[clap]

Happy to see Alto is at first place[:)] It has become common man's car after M.800. Thanks to Maruti Suzuki for giving reliable products.

Its also sad to see that India's former Road King HM Ambassador's sales drastically going down. HM should upgrade that model at an affordable price.

A bad month generally for everyone barring honda who would be mixed bag, Amaze will do well albeit at the cost of city as well. Duster continues to thrill renault.
XUV should start worrying M&M now, I still cant see the reason of not launching the W4 or W2 cut price version(unless they are still exporting enough to keep their production line busy or someone trying to protect Scorpio ? ) - XUV pricing has gone beyond the initial VFM tag.
Tata needs to really do something to boost Storme as well. Price parity amongst versions and loaded top end is needed, LX 4x4 would be very welcome too.
