2013 Fiat Punto & Linea Launch On 3rd April
Read more at 2013 Fiat Punto Linea Launch On 3rd April 2013 | MotorBeam - Indian Car Bike News & Reviews

Fiat will launch the 2013 Linea and Punto in India on the 3rd of April, 2013. The MY2013 Fiat cars will not be majorly different over their 2012 counterparts. Instead the Italian company has given minor changes to keep things fresh as it prepares for an onslaught in the Indian market in the next couple of years. Fiat has spent the past few months in developing a dealership network and the company has been quick in announcing new dealers in every part of India. Fiat will stop retailing its cars through Tata Motors’ dealerships soon.
While there is little idea on what changes the updated Linea and Grande Punto will get, we are almost certain Fiat will offer more features and accessories in the updated models. The company will refresh both the exteriors and interiors by playing with colours. Thus the Punto will get beige interiors, a hot favourite in India. Fiat will also launch the updated Linea T-Jet, which will get some changes too, but nothing drastic. The Linea T-Jet will be offered in more variants to lure performance oriented buyers to the Fiat brand.
Fiat will re-badge the current Linea as the Linea Classic in India sometime later this year. A thoroughly updated model will be launched as the Linea in 2014. The company will also launch the Punto Evo in India next year. Fiat is yet to officially confirm progress on the next generation Linea and Punto and thus the company is not rushing the launch of the Punto Evo and facelifted Linea in India, as all these cars are mechanically the same. Fiat will also launch the Abarth brand in India, offering the Punto Abarth at a mouth watering price.

For lesser souls like me who still only dream of owning a car, anything that is made better & comes in good number of varieties will be beneficial from a personal stand point. However I agree with Jayadev about Fiat taking its own sweet time in introducing their cars & still running around with outdated models which are still not selling in good numbers.

They have only mentioned just like Google which keeps us guessing about Nexus 4 launch in India, FIAT needs to buckle up & hit the gas peddle to the floor & accelerate its launch of cars else it will loose the current base of customers to others who are offering better & new models albeit with their own Engine aka the Engine of India!

Along with refreshed punto/linea, Fiat should have at least launched panda or the likes of it. With punto/linea being market duds and Fiat's reputation for its ASS perceived or not, they will have a tough time with sales. With their plans to start afresh, they would be better off launching one or two new models along with the refresh.

To me it look like Fiat is afraid of high sales, and they have been ever glad achieving deprecating 2 digit sales figure successively .

Well something finally but there is no info on their website itself! will wait and see how well the interiors improved!
There isnt anything other than old dated cars being served in same bottle again and again since last 8 years.Last year they launched Blue punto and Blue Linea (Shame they called it a new launched I felt like dumbass )

You drive it and see same sluggish acceleration, same old panel gaps, same old poor fit and finish.

So what can you expect; some imaginary hype and silly claims and puny hail from few of leftover fanboys.

They wont even bother to admit this stupidity time and again concurrent to poor least sales.

IndianAutosBlog.com attended Fiat India’s ‘The Move’ press conference this morning in Mumbai. This press conference was carefully crafted to communicate three strong messages -

Fiat India is now separated from Tata Motors
The Italian automaker has made certain ‘moves’ to reiterate its commitment towards India
Fiat is ready to deliver what India deserves
Here are the steps taken to achieve these three objectives -
Fiat India is now separated from Tata Motors
Although the announcement of Fiat India separating from Tata Motors was communicated approximately a year back, April 1, 2013 marks the official date of the divorce with Tata Motors.
The Italian automaker has established an exclusive network of 51 dealers till date. Fiat plans to double this number by the end of the fiscal year.
Work on 16 more dealership is already underway and they should be open shortly.
Fiat has established its own 24X7 call center and a 60,000 sq.ft. warehouse to store spare parts.
All the existing Fiat owners who purchased their cars from Tata-Fiat dealerships will be contacted via SMS and email on the new dealerships and service centers. There will also be some special service camps for these customers in the coming weeks.
The Italian automaker has made certain ‘Moves’ to reiterate its commitment towards India
The first move is the appointment of Nagesh Basavanhalli as the new President and MD of Fiat-Chrysler India. Basavanhalli will spearhead Fiat India’s ambitious plan to achieve 5 percent market share by 2016.
Fiat India will launch a 360 degree marketing campaign called ‘Make a Move’ to rebuild its brand image. The campaign will cover digital, print, TV and on-the-ground activities over the next six weeks.
The automaker has extensively invested in training skilled labor to work at its new dealership network.
The company is working on launching new Fiat Cafes to bolster its image in India.
The automaker is also working on improving service experience by providing the new service stations with high tech machinery and well trained staff.
The company plans to have mobile service cars that will provide car service at customer’s doorstep.
Fiat is ready to deliver what India deserves
Fiat India acknowledged in the press conference that so far the Italian automaker has not delivered to Indian expectations. Fiat assured that in the coming years it will completely change the status quo.
The automaker has readied an onslaught of products from Fiat, Chrysler and Abarth stables for the Indian market, which it wasn’t willing to dwell on in today’s meeting.
For here on, Fiat India will focus on three pillars – brand building, production and distribution.
The company has chalked out a 3 year/100,000 km warranty on its products to assure the customer a complete peace of mind. The warranty can be extended 150,000/5 years at a nominal cost.
We can sense that you have a suggestion or two for Nagesh and Fiat India. Consider leaving them in the comments box below.
