Re: All New Maruti Suzuki Crossover Facelift

The face lift looks much better. The tail lamps looks similar to the ones on ford eco sport(or is it only me?).

This is a good model. I think is launched in Geneva Motor show 2013.

If launched in India will leave Duster run for money.

Yes,

This is impressive and the name SX4 was not a hit with that sedan in India, so this will do for Maruti.

I wish TATA looks into such things when they facelift crossovers like Aria as most customers would be interested in bit sportive looks for crossover

looks really good, this car can be a game changer if launched quickly & with good price strategy. To me it looks far better then Duster, ES & Ertiga.

I am not sure about this one, despite the fact that it has taken some inspirations from the new Linea or Chrysler Delta,it is too ugly and weird. Old one was better IMO.

The old Suzuki SX4 crossover gets a facelift in China

It’s always nice to see those cars plying on our Indian roads which are also available globally. The Maruti SX4 is one of those cars.

Unfortunately, in India, we are only aware of the sedan version of this car while in other markets like China, Suzuki also offers the crossover version.

Even while the all new SX4 in inching closer to its market launch, Suzuki has facelifted the crossover variant of the old SX4 in China. The face of the car receives the major changes which include new sharp cuts on its front bumper with redesigned headlights, grille, air dam and fog lights. As a result, the new front fascia looks more aggressive and aerodynamic than before.

The new alloy wheels, roof rails and rear bumper further enhances the crossover’s appeal. The SX4 is a brisk seller in China and with these changes it would become even more popular.

The engine options are carried forward from the outgoing model. It’s available with 1.6L and 1.8L petrol engines mated with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Despite being old, the car seems to have a few more years of life left in China. As with many other cars in the Chinese market, the old SX4 could be sold alongside the new SX4.

Its one awesome sedan, but just that it didn't make the numbers, but to be on a serious note can consider the facelift version saw the add in tv recently the new grille, but curious to know what are the changes apart from the grille

Had it been me 2 years back i would have considered the chevy optra magnum over the SX4 there is something which was a let down in the old version and mostly the lack of clear visibility due to the A-Pillar, probably a blind spot

For me front looks very aggressive, but the side and and back looks more like a small hatchback. Looks more like ford fusion(or even smaller).
Any one has info on launch in India? Also some dimensions please

SX4 is a good sturdy car but lack of upgrades from manufacturer and the not update interior killed it. Hope the 'Crossover' will change that.

Engine line up for Suzuki S-Cross SX4 revealed

Suzuki has revealed the engine line up for its S-Cross SX4 crossover. The car was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March. As per the Japanese automakers recently revealed future plans will spawn a smaller vehicle that will use the same underpinnings.

The S-Cross SX4 is being offered with one diesel mill and one petrol engine. The oil burner is a turbocharged 1.6-litre unit that produces 119PS and 320Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels or all four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. The petrol is also 1.6-litre mill but is naturally aspirated. It produces 119PS and 156Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels or the front wheels via a five-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.

It is expected that S-Cross SX4 will spawn a sedan that will eventually come to the Indian market sometime next year. Given the sudden demand for crossovers, we can also expect the S-Cross SX4 to make its way here around the same time.

2014 Suzuki SX4 crossover spotted testing in Italy

The 2014 Suzuki SX4 crossover which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year is about to hit the market soon.

The fully disguised test mule of the car has been spotted in an Italy. The SX4 Crossover is at its final phase of testing. The new SX4 moves a segment above compared to the model it replaces.

The SX4 crossover will be powered by 1.6 litre petrol or diesel engines whose specifications are yet to be released. The petrol engine is likely to be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox while the diesel engine will join hands with a 6-speed manual box.

The diesel engine is also expected to be available with a 7-speed stepped CVT gearbox with paddle shifters. The car will also get Suzuki’s All Grip 4WD system.

Equipment wise, the new SX4 crossover sports the usual safety features like airbags, ABS, ESP, traction control, etc. The SX4 also boasts of world’s first double sun roof.

The car will be built at Suzuki’s Hungarian manufacturing unit. The European launch of the crossover is expected to happen in a few months time.

The 2014 SX4 crossover is mainly for European markets and we will have to wait until sedan version of the SX4 is ready.

Suzuki SX4 S-Cross is its full name!

There has been a little confusion about the actual name of the 2014 Suzuki SX4 crossover which is about to go on sale in the Europe.

The S-Cross concept but Suzuki decided to retain the concept’s name as the main branding for the second generation car. The automaker’s reluctance to use the SX4 name as the primary badge is understandable since the outgoing car is a whole segment below the current car.

Suzuki fears that the SX4 name could dilute the new car’s premium crossover appeal and hence decided to emphasize more on the S-Cross moniker. Dale Wyatt, sales and marketing director of Suzuki’s UK said -
We have sort of won the battle. It will be badged as the SX4 S-Cross, although the SX4 bit will be much smaller.
The 2014 Suzuki SX4 S-Cross sits on a completely new platform and is much bigger than the old SX4 crossover. The car gets new design, extra equipment and more boot space to graduate up market.

The crossover offers a choice of 1.6 litre petrol and diesel motors. The petrol motor develops 120bhp and 150 Nm of torque. The Fiat sourced MultiJet diesel motor is good for an identical 120bhp but pumps out a healthy 320 Nm of torque.

The Suzuki SX4 S-Cross will go on sale in the UK starting from October 1 and will be competing with the Nissan Qashqai (which is due for a replacement).
