Although we are saying a lot about the following
Fit and Finish
We are comparing it to other available models in market like ertiga, safari and scorpio.
Here are my 2 cents.
Engine: (Only diesel)
85 BHP: when we look at the power to weight ratio of the engine its almost equal to other available SUVs in market. Kerb weight = 1200 kgs (approx) PTW= 71BHP per tonne.
whereas Scorpio has 1800 (approx) kerb weight and 120 BHP (for lx 2.2L variant) hence PTW= 67 BHP/tonne
Safari is of around 2200 kgs and of 140 BHP hence PTW= 64 BHP/ tonne
COnclusion: Duster has better PTW than others and is more agile and powerful.
If we compare 110 BHP engine than the PTW would be 88BHP/Tonne.
Pricing: Base Model of all the vehicle costs in Delhi (approx)
Interior Fit and Finish and Plastics:
Out of the three vehicles Duster has the best fit and finish and plastic quality followed by Safari (quality) and fit and finish (scorpio).
Safari beats both the vehicle hands down in terms of equipments in base variant.
Space: Again Safari followed by Duster and than scorpio. Yes scorp is at third due to very less space in middle row and the recline angle is most annoying in scorp.
Drivability: Safari is good, Scorp is better than safari and yet to drive Duster so no comments on THis. BUt as a monocoque Duster will win easily due to ease of driving and less body roll.
FE: Here Duster wins by a great margin of around 7-8 kmpl.
Safari is uber cool, followed by Scorpio and Duster is like a man in his tuxedo.
All the above mentioned points are partly based on facts and partly basd on my personal observations.
