Yesterday I got chance to drive Tiago for good 230 kms and below are the quick observations.
Start up: my friend booked Tiago from Xxx and asked me to come along to take the delivery as Tata Motors closed the dealership in our city. So we wake up early morning and drove to Xxx in a celerio of his cousin (lucky me to get a chance of comparison). the celerio is aprox three months old and with 2300 on ODO. I drove celerio around 100kms on the way.
We reached dealer by 10:30 and we got the hands on vehicle by 11:00.
Delivery experience: good as the staff was eager and the moment we entered the facility we were served with drinks and was attended by SA. We were asked to wait for some time as the car is in washing bay.we were also offerd a tour for other vehicles. We decided to sit and take rest after drive. After 30 min approx we got to see the vehicle after washing and we started with PDI checkup process. Everything was in place. I decoded the VIN and it was those of Zica models and the Zica was scratched from the plate and the other decals were replaced with Tiago pretty neatly.
It took around Two hours of time for all the paper work and other formalities and a small ceremony with a gift of chocolates from them.
The experience was nice however a notch below than Hyundai delivery process that I experienced in Delhi but much much better than Maruti and chevrolet's pathetic process.
Now we took her straight to Fuel station and got the tank filled. At station my friend asked me to drive as he was not comfirtable with new vehicle on highway
He was really nervous as he stalled it twice when reversing.
So it is me on the steering of the new chick from Tata.
Wow is the feeling. Amazing plush feel of interior after driving Celerio.
Rest in another post... phone battery gone
