Scania Commercial Vehicles India has launched its new P 410 truck in Indian CV market. The new truck is apt for tough off-road working conditions. It has a number of features that are designed to maximize uptime.

Jointly with Larsen & Toubro, Scania is exhibiting its latest truck at this year’s IMME conference in Kolkata.

The new frontal styling is completely functional, encompassing robust solutions to protect vulnerable components, thus reducing repair costs. The new, more robust engine with 410 horse power increases productivity and enables higher uptime.

Speaking during the launch, Sivakumar V, Director Sales, Scania Commercial Vehicles India said, “Our understanding of the customer requirements especially in rough and rugged terrains, deep insights into the truck business and our expertise in innovative technology during product development – these have been the foundation of building a powerful truck such as the P410. The trucks are powered by high performance engines which are best suited to optimum performance in Indian operating conditions.”

The P 410 benefits from new improvements, features and functions. For instance, ScaniaOpticruise with off-road mode, theone-piece solid steel bumper, strong tow pin that allows the vehicle to be towed out,a strong suspension system designed for tough mining conditions. The solid black grille and bumper structure reinforce the impression of strength. The new P 410 is distinguished by its restyled front, having sharper looks that make it stand out from the crowd and ability to withstand intense and unavoidable pounding for maximum uptime and mobility.

Salient features of the P410 truck:

The new 410hp engine is optimized for low engine revs and thereby improved fuel efficiency.
The sturdy steel bumper protrudes 130 mm to protect the cab from minor bumps, an additional 80 mm compared to the previous protruding bumper.
Integrated in the bumper is a strong tow pin with a capacity of 35 tonnes, allowing the vehicle to be towed out of trouble without the need to unload in most situations.
A wide, slip-proof service step on top of the bumper for ease of access for the driver.

Oh! Its a TRUCK?
I thought it would be some bike (410cc!) :biggrin:

Anyways, it looks Sturdy from the sharper front grill. Compared to these trucks, our Indian 407s are nothing.
What's the price BTW?

These are quite under powered trucks, though handling is better than MAN.
I liked the Volvo the most in terms of power delivery.
