Did a bit of Offroading TD with the production spec of Nexon
# High ground Clearance made it a boon in the big pothole way to the farms
# Engine impressed me with the power it delivers to the wheels in the bigger gears as well. Mid-range seams strong however 4*4/LSD is still missed as My Safari is in different leagues(as expected from LF based true SUV)
#No rattling or any useless noise from the Car and gives you a well-built feel than My Safari or even my friends Brezza which gives a hollow kind of feeling.
# Suspension setting is the icing on the cake. WOW
# GB slotting and feel is really great but still a notch below than the competitors but not a deal breaker or a thumb down. I feel after few KM's on ODO it will improve and smoothen out as it was with my safari and lot of other cars
# Cornering features of foglamps is great and after this TD, I would love to get it fitted on my other drives
# Heavyweight does impact the performance of this engine however it is still ahead from Brezza, however, the weight brings advantage to ride & handling and stability of the vehicle along with the robustness you feel inside the vehicle.
# It is a refined engine, considering its a newly developed and version 1. I want to give the credit to Dr. Tim Leverton and the whole team. Great job here especially when it is plonked first time in any car. Am sure the Version 2 will be in a different league.
Few things I want to improvise on:
# Headlights throw seem a bit Off, Maybe readjustments required.
# Front Armrest should be bit big or there should be adjustment mechanism provided
# Seat gives a feeling of small size/less spacious however after close analysis I can say that due to the contours and bolstering it's just a visual/feel. I like it this way.
# An option of the rear bench should be provided in the lower variants which are not equipped with rear AC options to increase the size for the third occupant in the rear seat.
Overall, an amazing Job by TML
and would love to own it and recommend it to others eyes closed.
Million $$ question - Real world FE & NVH? I can't comment on Petrol, however, the Diesel I drove will give you smiles, will soon share my observations on petrol as well after I'll get hands-on but still, TML also get it right with the petrol as well, maybe it is not Dragon 1.5L from Ford but not any less than 1.2L turbo category considering the price
