TATA Aria has reached VRDE for testing again!
And all here very well know that a new model/ variant with mechanical changes should reach VRDE for certification before launch. So some investigation by our Auto enthusiast collegue has revealed that it is a 6 speed gearbox and it's a manual one! Most of us were under the impression that 6 speed means an Auto box as displayed in the Auto Expo 13 and the Geneva Show recently.
Well this is a story that is running on www.indiancarsbikes.in
and has been spotted by EarthFusion. We are yet to receive the details of the specifications but we expect it to be same as that of the Auto box with 156BHP @ 400 RPM. But if it was 175-180 BHP, then it would be a macho of engine with juicy raw power on tap. I seriouly think that TATA should not up with the price, but should launch the new, feature rich and more powerful ARIA at the same or little lesser price than it would be a wonderful deal for us.
If this engine & GB could be be available on the Safari too then it would be a more sweeter deal, which I would love to lay my hands on as the current Strome was not so pleasant to drive.
Coming back to the ARIA, it is all set to get a comprehensive facelift in the coming months. More features, refreshed interiors and exteriors and couples with new power ratios should make it a more desireable.
The problem with Safari and ARIA is that they do not fit into the commercial segment and that the reason they do not get a resale value, because only a Safari/ Aria lover should plan to pick up a used vehicle. Other vehicles like Innova, Qualis, Scorpio, Bolero, etc., go into the Taxi segment for commercial use, so do command a good resale value.
