Looks like a premium hatch. To me the rear lamps looks similar to that of i20.

This is not a premium hatchback. It is likely to compete with Chevy Beat and in these renderings, It looks much better and futuristic than it.

I am really impressed with this Artist's impression! Its high time for them to scrap Santro and bring in a new model. This one will be great and will be a real challenge for others in the segment.

Yeah and if you see the sales charts Santro is still doing well even though its a very old model just like Alto!

But yeah this can cause a stir in the market if this is going to be produced!

yeah and why on earth any one would scrap a well selling model .

Other than Toyota when they took a bad decision to stop quails. Which I think they will regret now.

Default Hyundai plans Rs 1.6-lakh car

Source - Hyundai plans Rs 1.6-lakh car

Korean car-maker Hyundai is likely to unveil a small car that will compete with Maruti Suzuki’s Alto, the biggest selling car model in India, at the next Auto Expo to be held in New Delhi in 2012.

According to a senior official of Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the subsidiary of the Korean auto major, development of the small car is currently underway at its parent company’s R&D centre in Korea.

“Considering the fact that the car has been designed and developed keeping in mind the Indian market, the next Auto Expo in 2012 will be the ideal platform to unveil the car,” the official, who asked not to be identified, said.

The car will be positioned below the company’s existing flagship model, Santro, and operate in the segment that the Alto from Maruti Suzuki is in, the official added.
