Thanks Sam.
Ford has been able to push some Figo's and Classics with the help of offers.Ecosport is a lesson in itself for business students how an under prepared manufacturer can mess its name.Amaze is holding its ground.i10 grand has made a grand entry.Verna and i20 show that the mass markets want a reliable car not a tarmac scorcher or a handler. Scorpio continues to amaze a 'Scorpion' like me! Butch look sells and how, ask Fortuner,it costs north of 25 lakhs but sells more than most 25+ lakh vehicles combined. No need to write about the Maruti, but high time they stop Estilo and A-star the latter not 'A star' by any means. Volkswagen needs some new releases to be in the reckoning.Duster has shown that it's not gonna bite dust any soon.
Regards,
Aneesh.

Great compilation Sam. Maruti Suzuki seems to be having a good last month with some good numbers done by Swift , Dzire and Wagon R in particular. Rest only the new launches like the Grand i10, Honda Amaze and Ford Ecosport seem to be doing good in these dismal times for the auto industry. Scorpio numbers never fail to surprise me. Rightly said, the butch looks sells and how. Only if reliability was not an issue with the Tata's, we could have had seen some good number of spanking new Safari's & Storme's hitting the roads too. Sadly, not the case. Don't know if the management at Tata is happy enough selling 850 units of the SUV when other in the price bracket are easily doing 3-4 times more.

Jetta seems to have taken quite a dip with just 49 units shipped in September. Its a brilliant product overall, but surely needs a little price correction. Elantra on the other hand seems to be doing great in the segment, just being the most VFM offering. More car for your money as they say. Would be waiting to see Octavia's number in this segment, but it too is over-priced and won't cause any major troubles to the likes of Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Corolla Altis.

Duster finally reviving some sales after a few months of decline because of all the offers being run by Renault. Will be seeing more lucrative offers during the upcoming festive season and should be a great time to pick up a Duster if someone has been eyeing to get one.

Really great to see Duster holding it's own inspite of the Ecosport onslaught and impending Terrano launch! Next month will be interesting - assume Duster ships 3000 and Terrano too the same amount. Then the combined shipments would be just about same as Ecosport - the cross-branding strategy would have worked, at least in the short term.

I can't understand why Ertiga and Enjoy numbers have both fallen ahead of the festive season. Are family buyers shying from MUVs now ?

Sad to see flat numbers for the Camry - looks like a dead end for Hybrids in India.

Seems Auto Industry is coming back to track. It will be more pleasure to see next 2 months sales figures with the festive season. MIL has started giving discounts on all variants of Swift and dezire. Should be interesting to see ahead.

Well it appears that sales have somewhat stabilized and barring a small festival peak remain the same.
An idea though difficult to put together would be used car sales perhaps as a seperate thread. Would be facinating to see that trend compared with new car sales!
TML sales will perhaps follow this pattern till ground up new cars or steep price cuts come. Dont see a cng nano doing too much. cng is not widely available. atleast in smaller cities

Very Informative charts and data. It is very surprising to see the sales of Maruti Ertiga taking a sudden dip in September. As always Mahindra Bolero and Scorpio tops in the Utility segment sales.

Honda (HCIL) sales figures for Oct'13

Brio: 1472
Amaze: 9564
City: 31
Accord: 60
CR-V: 87

Total: 11,214

Amaze is continuing its strong performance and for the 1st time has reached 9k+ units. City is phased out, new City to be unveiled this month. Brio desperately needs diesel engine. Accord is continuing its 2 digit figures, while Petrol only CRV is selling more then Diesel only Santa Fe.

Expect New City, New Jazz, Mobilo and Brio Diesel to boost Honda's sales in India
