There seems to be some error in the petrol engine specifications!!
Petrol
16v DOHC, 1996cc producing 71PS @ 6250 RPM and 102 NM of Torque @ 4000 RPM.
It should be a 1.2 Litre engine.

I paid a visit to Ford's showroom yesterday evening to have a look at the Figo. I reached there at 7.30 p.m and noticed that the showroom was totally deserted. I entered, hoping a salesman would come forward, but no, i had to wait for 5 minutes before one chap noticed me and came to my aid. I had a look at the Figo. The exteriors looks pretty good to me, the front end is sharp, and even the side profile of the car is quite nice. The rear-end, though a bit like the Fusion, still looks fresh. Paint quality is quite commendable too. Overall, the car looks modern and is solidly built. I decided to check the interiors. Opened the solid-feeling door and noticed the muddy-brown dash, which is not to my liking at all. Salesman tells me the interior of a Figo looks richer than a Fabia, which i completely turn down. But the quality of the dash is pretty good, everything feels well put together. No cheap plastics or ill-fitting panels. The seats are very comfortable, both the front and rear ones. I jumped over to the rear seat. Seats again are very soft and comfy with good thigh support, but the transmission tunnel was too high and intrusive. I tried fitting 3 people at the back, and fit they did, but shoulder and legroom was nowhere as good as an Indica Vista. Went over to the boot. It IS quite spacious! Almost like a Fabia's. Sufficient enough for the occasional outstation trip. To give you an idea, i could close the hatch and fit myself in there :P. Had a look at the engine. The only one on display had the 1.2 Duratec petrol engine. No 1.4 TDCi on display. Salesman tells me the petrol will return 14 kmpl in the city, which is hard to believe.
-----------Next Post-----------
My Figo Verdict Part 1-The Ford Figo is a brilliant hatch. It is solid, big, and imposing. Overall build quality is fantastic and you get that big-car feel. Inside, barring the color of the dash, everything is very well made. You won't find any cheap materials. Front seat space is fantastic, and they are very comfy too. Rear seat space is better than the Swift and Ritz. Boot space too, is way better than direct competitors. It is also loaded with many features, and has the option of an extended two-year warranty for Rs.8000. Dealer tells me that the price list will be available by today and he will forward it to me. Also, test drives will be available from 8 or 9 March and deliveries will start by the second week. Now the best part. He says the base Figo will be priced around Rs.3.75 lakh on-road in Mumbai, which i believe is a terrific price! It easily undercuts the Wagon R and the Swift. Even the range-topping petrol Figo will be cheaper than base petrol Polo, around Rs 4.75 lakh! I would say that is terrific value-for-money. Part 2 of my verdict will come when i go for a TD. Hope you all like my review. Awaiting feedback from you guys.

Great report amaan.
The boot looks huge. I think the reddish dashboard color is optional, so this should not be an issue.
Regarding features loaded, i read somewhere, even in top model figo doesn't have rear power windows, electric OVRMs etc. I am not sure if it is really feature loaded. But for the price, it is really the best VFM vehicles currently.

Wiring management under the hood could have been improved.
But Figo looks like it may do something for the Ford numbers!!

First of all, thanks a lot . The red dashboard is optional only on the Zxi variant, not the range-topping Titanium variant. This will surely hurt sales of the Titanium variant. Feature wise, i feel it is adequately equipped. Even the mid-variant features a music system with 4 speakers! And it also comes with an engine immobilizer too, which an Indica Vista doesn't offer. Hence, I think that the Figo offers sufficient bang for your buck.

Hey great and crisp review Amaan!! Looks like a good VFM car indeed!! And yes you cannot compare any other cars to a TATA when it comes to space , TATA provides loads of them!
If Figo creates an impression its cheaper to maintain this car can taste success!!
