Audi recently confirmed it will launch an electric crossover in 2018. The vehicle won’t be a dedicated electric car but a variant of a new crossover with coupe-like styling to be called the Q6. While the electric Q6, likely to be called a Q6 e-tron, won’t arrive until 2018, regular gasoline- and diesel-powered variants may arrive much sooner.
The concept will feature some advanced aerodynamic elements. The source also said the concept will feature an electric powertrain and that Audi is investigating other options for the eventual production version including a likely plug-in hybrid option as well as a less certain hydrogen fuel cell option.
