Like the XC90 and S90, the V90 is expected to be powered by a range of petrol, diesel and hybrid powertrains, including the range-topping T8 hybrid which pairs a 235kW four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a plug-in hybrid battery system. Combined, the range-topper will deal out 298kW, along with an all-electric range of about 40km. In addition, the wagon is expected to be offered with a three-cylinder petrol engine.
The V90's biggest point of difference from the S90 is its boot-less rear-end. The wagon instead comprises a heavily raked rear window and prominent taillights, styling elements which bear similarities with the smaller V60 wagon.
