Courtesy of Ferd, a couple of spyshots of Lada’s upcoming hatchback, the Lada XRAY, has surfaced online. They reveal the final production-spec design of the XRAY, which is influenced by Lada’s latest design language.
The Lada XRAY features a new front face with the X-motif, a dual slat grille flanked by a pair of large headlamps, and has round fog lamps
Up front, it features a new front face with the X-motif, a dual slat grille flanked by a pair of large headlamps, and has round fog lamps in the lower front fascia. The side profile gets two character lines that define the design, and rides on 5-spoke 16 inch alloy wheels.
It also appears to have a relatively high ground clearance. At the back, it sports an horizontal wraparound taillamp, a rear wiper, and a black plastic cladding on the rear bumper.
The Lada XRAY concept that previewed the design of the production-spec model was based on the Renault Sandero platform. The production model is expected to follow suit, featuring a 1.6 liter Renault-sourced engine producing 114 hp paired to a French manual gearbox. Reports suggest that only 25% of its parts are locally sourced, thus being heavily dependent on imported parts.
