Fiat is currently working on a facelift for its classic, retro model – the Fiat 500. Although the classic design will remain intact, the facelift includes certain updates that will keep the 500 fresh in the competitive market.
The facelift will feature a revised front and rear bumper, LED headlights (first time for the 500) and new alloy wheel designs. The interior will also receive a facelift in the form of a better design, materials and equipments, say reports.
Changes include a new multifunction steering wheel, Fiat’s Uconnect 5 touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, MP3 radio, Bluetooth, redesigned buttons for power windows and new HVAC controls, an earlier spyshot revealed.
Being simply a facelift, it may not feature an all new engine lineup. Expect Fiat to revise the current engines for better fuel economy and emissions.
The 2016 Fiat 500 will make its public debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show that opens in mid-September, but expect a preview to take place on July 4, a traditional date for the Fiat 500 since the classic 1957 model was launched on that date. 2016 Fiat 500 (facelift) spotted in Turin - Spied
